Authentique & UmWowStudio

Hello Friends!!

We're excited to bring you some inspiration in a team up of UmWowStudio and Authentique in true THROW BACK THURSDAY fashion! We'll have 3 posts through the next month, always on Thursdays, to inspire you in various ways of using older (but still gooder) UmWowStudio and Authentique goodness!

We're also inviting you to complete a project of your own using both UmWowStudio and Authentique products (any and all products qualify!) Link up at the bottom of the post and be entered to win a prize pack full of Authentique and UWS goodness! Ends the end of November♥

Now... for our inspiration! First up we have the talented Amy Lassiter:

She's used the Be(YOU)Tiful Collection from Authentique.

And secondly I'm sharing my own projects, 2 cards:
Both have been made on the Loyal collection by Authentique. What I love about UmWowStudio is that it can be either just a sweet embellishment, like in the card above, which uses the Star Confetti from UmWowStudio.

Or, UmWowStudio can be a main component and eye piece like the Layered Banner pieces, Layered Triangle pieces and Star Confetti that have been layered on top of each other in this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by to see our inspiration! Make sure you stop by the Authentique blog to see what they've been up to, also! And link up below any projects using both UmWowStudio and Authentique to win one of TWO giant prizes! We'll draw one winner here, and Authentique will draw one, too!

Beautiful Moments

Hi everyone!  Chrissy here today to share a layout that just warms my heart and if you know me, I don't do layouts very often.

As you know, we've teamed up with 7 Dots Studio for the month and I loved the look of their "Domestic Goddess" line.  I paired it up with a frame from the Polaroid Mash set

I also busted out my Light Bulb Mask, Hexagon Confetti Mask, gesso and Derwent Inktense pencils.  I jazzed up the edges of my frame with some gesso so that it stands out a little bit more.  My finishing touches were some hexagons and some awesome washi tape.

Thanks for taking a look at my page!

BRIGHT IDEA {Tag by DeeDee}

Hey folks :) DeeDee here today sharing another 7 Dots Studio and UmWowStudio MIXUP!

These two companies really work so well together.. and I've been so proud of the Creative Team over the last month!

Today I'm sharing a tag I just finished up this morning - I'll be submitting it to Just Steampunk!

The paper is from the All I Ever collection from 7 Dots Studio and has been distressed with Walnut Stain and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. (The black paper is just basic black cardstock)

The bulb has been molded using Amazing Mold Rubber and cast in Amazing Clear Cast Resin (from Amazing Crafting Products!) I LOVE IT! The gears are a mix of the Gear Mash and some ideology metal ones by TH. The # tabs are from 7 Gypsies and the metal flower is from my stash covered in glimmer mist. You can see here a sneak peek of a brand new set from UmWowStudio ===> LAYERED LEAVES!

The stamps is from Viva Las VegaStamps! in archival black, the button and thread are from my stash. The crow is from the Pair o' Crows. The alphas are from Glitz Designs, and I've punched some holes into the back of the tag as another layer.

A Little Sugar & Spice (12 x 12 by Jess)

Hello out there! This is Jess today with a sweet 12x12 using paper from 7 Dots Studio, who we'll be featuring all month.

I used the Messy Head collection for this page and totally fell in love with it in the process!

As you can see this line is pretty feminine and worked perfectly with this photo of my little peanut AND the sweet Our Princess flair set

I misted some Circle Confetti with Blush Color Shine from Heidi Swapp and it gave it just the right amount of color and shimmer without completely hiding the natural chip goodness.  I looped some May Arts twine around the confetti area to further the circle theme.

The Large Love This Polaroid was painted with white crackle paint and I do indeed "love this"!

I misted the Floral Flourish with the same Color Shine and I really love the soft, romantic feeling it adds to the page. It's layered over some awesome scalloped trim from Maya Road.

I also added a smattering of red circles from the Circle Confetti Mask all over this design.

Of course I added a layered cluster at the top left of the layout for balance.  This flair is from the Wild West Flair set and the heart is the cut out from the Polaroid.

All these bits and pieces came together so easily with the 7 Dots Studios paper!  This is definitely one of my new favorite layouts!

Marching to the beat of your own drum {12x12 by Kylie}

Hi folks, it's Kylie here with my layout featuring both UmWowStudio and 7 dots studio

I've wanted to scrap this picture ever since I saw it. We had a family photo shoot at the local nature center and this is the only picture I ordered. It's hard to get my daughter to stay still and pose for long enough to get anything decent. Anyway, I absolutely loved the 7 dots studio Messy Head and Love Is In The Air paper collections and utilized them both for this 12x12 layout. I paired the paper with some UmWowStudio Star Confetti Chipboard (my absolute favourite UmWowStudio confetti, which I have run out of - again!), some Layered Hearts, Flair (both Vintage Flag and The 2 Of Us) and finally used one of DeeDee's amazing masks.
I used the Star Confetti Mask and painted stars in both the lower left and upper right hand side of the layout. I then adhered some of the Star Confetti Chipboard within the painted stars and across the middle of the layout to lead the eye through it.
My title is pink and I added the pink ribbon to create some contrast with the blues and browns and finally, I painted some Layered Heart Chipboard pink and added that to the layout too. This isn't a colour combination I would usually utilize, but I like how it works with the amazing 7 dots studio papers.

Supplies used: UmWowStudio Star Confetti and Layered Heart Chipboard, Vintage Flag and The 2 Of Us Flair and Star Confetti mask. 7 dots studio Love Is In the Air and Messy Head papers (both 12x12 and 6x6 papers). Cosmo Cricket tiny type letters, Making Memories paints, ribbon from stash.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful, relaxing Sunday! Thanks for stopping by!

Painty How-To by Rachel Whetzel

Hey folks! DeeDee here today, bringing you a little how to from the super talented Rachel Whetzel! She gets some seriously great color on the surface of her UmWowStudio chipboard and was totally in for showing us how! She shows step by step how to get this:

She says: I started out with a piece that I painted and didn't end up liking. I actually used some mists on it, and it didn't look the way I wanted.

So I sanded that down, and started layering the paint on! I use my finger to rub the paint layers into the chipboard, and to get rid of the paint lines.

Then I used some punchinella to add some color over the red. Once that was dry, I used a larger punchinella(from Gauche Alchemy,) and off set it from the first layer, and added white.

Then I went back over and put more teal over that!!

Cool right??? Thanks so much Rachel! We just pulled in a ton of Distress Paint from Ranger and Tim Holtz which will be PERFECT for this technique! Keep an eye on the store site for the new goods to try out on our chip! :)

Jokulsarlon

Hello everyone!

Oh yes, I was so excited to get the chance to work on a project with both UmWowStudio and 7 Dots Studio products! I loved the colors and design of the papers from the 7 Dots Messy Head and Love is in the Air collections and I'd been hankering to use the arrows from the UWS Arrow Title Mash! set.

I painted the arrow black to really make it stand out and direct the eyes towards my photo. Next I layered with flair from the Oh The Places You'll Go set and wrapped it all up with some thread. For my page background I layered with washi tape, gesso, stamping, and watercolors.

Happy humpday everyone and I hope you find some time to create!

Supplies used:
UWS: Arrow Title Mash chipboard

Gauche Alchemy: black punchinella. washi tape
Freckled Fawn: washi tape
Studio Calico: mini roller camera stamp
AC: alphas

Raising an Artist

Hello! It's Amy here today, and I'm super excited to share a layout I created, using fabulous goodies from UmWowStudio and 7 Dots Studio! What a fabulous combination of products!
I used the UmWowStudio Layered Circles and stamped a super cool image that I could layer up, to create dimension. I also used the Layered Banners and Layered Stars that worked perfectly with a little color from the stamp, but the glorious kraft color is still the star of the show. The neutrals that are in the 7 Dots Studio 9th Wave and Messy Head collections that I used for this layout, work like magic with all of the UmWowStudio chipboard pieces.
I hope that I inspired you a little today, to get messy! I had such a wonderful time creating this layout, and can't wait to pop back in the studio this evening to get my scrap on!
