'Finding Neverland'

Hi there bloggers,
I hope you all had a Wonderful and Happy Christmas Day!

I have years of holiday photos that have been gathering dust so recently I thought I would stop with the kids photos....'it's time to get scrapping the holidays' before I forget the names of places I visited. So today I'm sharing a layout I created with a photo from Venice Italy.
I called this Find Neverland because if you ever go or have been to Venice, it's a place that you will find you never want to leave!

Out Takes!

Hello everyone!

Hope you all have been enjoying the holidays!
This is my last post for UmWowStudio and I just wanted to give a big THANKS to DeeDee for having me as a part of her team! I have thoroughly enjoyed it!

Today I'm sharing with you a funny page called Out Takes....we resorted to selfies this year in order to get our Christmas cards out on time and here's some of the faces we pulled :)

I used the UWS Star Confetti Mask with Super Heavy Gel in Gloss on the background. When the gel dried I painted over the stars with watercolors.

I also used the 'This Happened' sign from the UWS Arrow Title Mash and covered it with gesso and a messy coat of blue metallic acrylic paint.

To emphasize one of the photos, I framed it with a large polaroid from the UWS Polaroid Mash collection. This I left raw because I love the look of it just the way it is!

So with that I bid adieu, happy holidays to everyone and may you all have a wonderful New Year! See you around the blogosphere!

Cheers,
Miae

Turning 2

I was so inspired by last month's sketch here on the UmWowStudio blog, that I created this page with it!  I was at a crop and was stuck... I used the sketch to use up some of my paper scraps on my table and create a celebration page for my son's 2nd birthday photo.
I love the UmWow Studio Layered Banner shapes!  They are perfect mixed in with the bigger paper versions.
I also love the UmWowStudio flair.. this one from The Bee's Knees set.  So cute!
I also used some Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Whipped Spackle through the UmWowStudio Line of Chevrons Mask for a subtle design element.  Some Chevron Confetti was added over that when it dried.
When I'm stuck for page ideas, I love to go back to my collection of sketches from the UmWowStudio blog and other sources.  It gives me somewhere to start and then I can change or add whatever I need to to make it my own!

The Good Stuff with Rhonda

Happy Thursday to you and welcome to the blog today!  It's Rhonda here with my final post for 2014. It has been such an honor to design for UmWowStudio and DeeDee.

I had some fun with my page for today, using one of my favorite fun photos from this summer of my boys. I've mixed up my chip here with some fun designs and of course one of our beautiful flairs for my title.

"The Good Stuff"

Some details...

I thought it would be interesting to mix the Film Reel with the Flourish. I covered the flourish with some pearlescent paint. The film reel was painted with some Radiant Rain in pewter. The love speech bubble was colored with a Faber-Castell watercolor pencil in red, then I added a very dry brush to it.

I backed the film reel with some vellum, and the love speech bubble with pattern paper.  The variety of finishes on the chipboard elements makes for a really interesting mix of texture for the page.

Christmas Countdown

Good morning friends, Brianna here. I am sharing my final project as a team member today. It has been wonderful working with this team, and being able too share what I create with you all each month. I wanted to try and make something quite festive as my last project, and am very happy to add this to our holiday décor every year now. I am a huge fan of Thrift Shops, circulating them often for great finds. I came across this used Ikea frame, and knew it would be perfect for hanging my remaining tags left over from my layout done earlier this month. Because it seemed the most logical way to me, I used the two chipboard tags left from my Tab Tag Book as templates and created the remaining 25 pages out of black cardstock.
I planned to create My pages by using a set of materials to be used on each and every page for cohesiveness. I started out with choosing the perfect number cut files for my Cameo as my tag countdown.I chose 4 patterned papers ( a red, 2 brown grids, and black and white chevron). I also used Book pages from an old encyclopedia I use for projects; A few laser cut shapes out of white construction paper; Red thread; my red embellishment beads; My gold sequin stars; a variety of stamps; a few journaling circles from my stash; punched circles from my patterned papers; and of course my trust UmWowStudio products.
If you look closely, you can see that I made sure to use each of these products in some way on each tag.

Making a bit more of a focus on my main tag, I used this gorgeous flair from the make a wish flair set, backed by a Gear shape from the gear mash. I chose to keep the main background of the tag Raw, ( my favorite way to use my chipboard).

As I went along, I enjoyed the look of two pieces of chipboard per tag, switching out as I went, alternating between my button mash, sequin confetti, and arrow confetti.

I am quite excited how it Came out, certainly the best way to countdown the days until Christmas morning, and now I can have UmowStudio product to help put me in the holiday spirit each and every year to come.

Glittery Tag Book, Positive Word reminder

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Tina here today with my final UmWowStudio project.  :(  I have truly enjoyed my time creating for DeeDee and UWS and am hoping to be back soon!

For my final project, I created a Glittery Tag Book, with some of my favorite words to act as a reminder of how I want to live my life.

Even though my Tag Book may look complicated, it was very easy to create.  My supply list includes:

UWS Circle Peek-a-Boo Tag Book
Flower Confetti
Shimmerz Paints
Distress Ink
Tim Holtz Ribbon
Tim Holtz Word Stickers
Glitter
Gesso
Glue

I prepped each tag page with gesso, then liberally applied Shimmerz Paints to create a gorgeous background.  I heatset the paint to dry, then prepped a bunch of Flower Confetti with a coat of Gesso.  Once the gesso had dried, I adhered glitter with Mod Podge and let dry completely.

I wanted the Flower Confetti to peek through the circle cut-outs on each tag, so I lined up a top and bottom tag with each other, then glued the glittered flower confetti to the tag.

Using glue, I outlined each circle cut out, then added Glitter.  To finish the Tag Book, I added my word sticker sentiments and Shimmerz Paint colored ribbon.  Easy Peasy, yet one of a kind!

Thank you for stopping by!  Thank you again to DeeDee for believing in me!  I will see y'all around Cyber-Land!

Super quick card by Tusia Lech

Hello fellow scrappers :)

Here is Tusia Lech today with a recipe for a quick card :) Believe me or not it takes not more than 10 minutes to create a card, you can see below. I am that kind of person, who often forgets someone's birthday or name-day - to tell the truth I rarely remember such dates :) So I have learnt to create cards in minutes :) And today I would like to share my way for quick card :)

1. Cut 2 squares or rectangles - everything depends on the card base, you have. Mine is square. So I cut 2 squares - one about 0,5 inch smaller than the other one.
2. I took UmWowStudio Damask Mask and applied embossing ink through stencil on the black paper (7 Dots Studio - Illumination line). Than I sprinkled embossing powder (two colors) and heat everything up.
3. I chose 2 floral chipboards (I love them!!!) from UmWowStudio - Flourishes 1 - one of them was covered with embossing powder and the other I left raw.
4. I took some golden threads and choose 2 flowers (Prima).
5. I adhered everything using hot glue gun for flowers. I have added some embellishments (crystals) and a sticker from 7 Dots Studio - Nature Walk collection. Et voila!! The card is ready!

Easy peasy, isn't it? :)
Have a great day!
Tusia Lech

Almost there!

Hello and welcome to UmWowStudio Blog,

Back in my corner of the world today ~Australia...... Yes it's Geraldine here to share some quick Retro/Vintage Christmas card and tags. I wanted a little change today and unlike my usual layout style, I like cards & tags to have an old world charm - especially at this time of year as it tends to please Mum and the Grandma's and always gets them talking about Christmas when they were younger.

UmWowStudio Chipboard products used:

We all know just how hectic Christmas time is..... sometimes even the simplest of Cards or tags that we make reap the rewards of a smile and appreciation from the receiver and brighten our own Christmas.... these tags can be made in under 10 mins using a vintage image or paper. Keep the chipboard raw or add Crackle paint and ink.

I hope you all enjoy Christmas and the holiday season, see you again soon. G!

One Crisp Magical Night

Hello, how's everyone doing? It's Miae here to share with you a winter canvas.

We've been making some Christmas crafts at home with my two girls and each of them have made a canvas so I decided to make one too :)

First, I painted the background with a mix of distress paints, blotting between layers with baby wipes until I got the look I wanted.

I'd been savoring my UWS Spooky Branch, and I thought this was the perfect scene for it! I kept it raw but created the look of snow sitting on the branches with Distress Stickles in Rock Candy and loose white glitter.

As for the moon, I used UWS Layered Circles and painted gesso over it. Next, I used a sponge to apply some grey acrylic paint. Over the dried paint I applied glitter glue in silver and some more Rock Candy.

The UWS Star Confetti came in ever so handy to scatter all over the scene. I glued them all down first then dabbed gesso everywhere, followed by a bit of silver glitter. Easy!

Now I've created a little scene that we can hang up each winter. Happy Holidays to you all!

Distress Paints in Chipped Sapphire, Weathered Wood

Got Paint? with Jen Matott

What kid doesn't love to make a paint mess? My kids LOVE painting!  Being the children of an art teacher/ artist, you know there is going to be some art being made in my house!  I snapped this photo of my son when he was two years old using my craft paint (in which I put a dabber cap on for him to use easily).
I pulled out this fun paper from Maggie Holmes/ Crate Paper and used a die cut overlay that I had in my stash over it.  I didn't even have to break out my paints.   I loved the arrows in the die cut paper so I pulled out some of UmWow Studio's Chevron Arrows and Chevron Confetti to use as dimensional accents.  I love that they pull the shape in the paper out and I added a few punched arrows too.

Here's a fun Chevron Arrow along the side of the photo.  Love the shape of this chipboard!
Some stitching and sequins finish off this fun page highlighting my artistic boy!
I love UmWow Studio's trendy shapes for a three-dimensional accent on my pages!  Got Chip?

A Vintage Page with Rhonda

Greetings and welcome to the UmWowStudio blog today!  It's Rhonda here to share my project with you.

I've been wanting to scrap this photo of my father and his sister for the longest time. When I found it again going through photos the other day, I really wanted to celebrate it.  There aren't a ton of photos of my Dad from his youth, so these are very special to our family.

I used some papers with a sepia type of feel to them. Once I selected my papers, I chose my chipboard embellishments that would fit the feel of the page. The Doilies chip was covered in a chocolate pearlescent product.  The Soar Tab was coated in gesso, then touched with a variety of pearlescent product to give a variegated feeling and match the photo.

Don't you just love those doilies?!!!

A bit of background stamping and ink droplets with a bit of cheesecloth helped pull the page together.  When I was done stamping, I added bits of Mica to the areas to create a bit of shine and texture.

What's your favorite way to honor those special photos? Thanks so much for stopping on over today!

I swear I lived

Good morning friends and readers! I hope everyone is finding themselves happy in the start of the holiday season. I had started out planning to create festive projects this month, however the non-holiday inspiration struck, and I had to roll with it. It is part of my creative process( along with my cleaning and cooking process) to wear headphones and listen to a music of choice. This song by one of my favorite current bands came on and the song is so powerful and upbeat, it was just what I needed to scrap this fun photo from a summer beach trip.

I had gotten the Tag book with the intent of using it as a mini book, but it felt right to use it as a base for this layout. I am a HUGE sucker for the raw look of this chipboard. I LOVE nature and love to represent it in my pages, making my raw chipboard just what I need at every project. I layed down two pages from the tag book, staggered atop one another as a starting point.
I than added a paper bow I folded, and layered up some fun pieces to lay the make a wish flair on, I have been LOVING the look of random thread beneath embellishments. With so many thread colors, it is the perfect way to add subtle color. I finalized with a bit of confetti flair on top to add detail. Seriously, how perfect and celebratory does this flair look! Perfect for the way I view this magical ride called life.
Thanks for stopping into today and letting me share this fun layout with you! I hope it encouraged you to use your albums in new ways! Check back in tomorrow for some more amazing inspiration!

Under the Sea ATC Trio

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Tina here today with a trio of Destination Unknown/Ocean inspired ATC cards.

ATCs have always been a favorite project type of mine.  I love little canvases and ATC cards are the perfect size.

To create the background for my mini scene's, I sprayed several shades of Shimmerz sprays, then heat embossed to create 'waves'.  A few splatters of spray mist and the background was perfect!

I wanted a lot of texture on my chip pieces, so I heat embossed the large pieces with chunky embossing powder and the smaller ones with glass glitter.

UmWowStudio Chipboard used:
Coral
SeaLife Set

For a bit more whimsy, I added a piece of flair to each ATC card.  I love the dimension it added.

UmWowStudio Flair used
Set Sail

Wrap it up with a piece of twine and a sticker sentiment and DONE!

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great day!
