Mishap Tags by Lynne Forsythe

Hi UmWowStudio Fans.....
Hope all is Well in your part of the world.

I'm stoppin' by to share with you
two tags that were birthed out of a horrible Mishap.

Here is a quick video of my MISHAP!

....and these are the tags I made from my mishap.

See how I created my inchies HERE.

I needed to accent my flowers with a few leaves so
I chose one of my UmWowStudio Signature Series Chippies
I wanted to follow along on the same "Mishap idea" with my chippie.
  • I painted the front of the chippie with Lime Cordial. Let it dry.
  • Painted on Vanilla Milk Shake. Let it dry.
  • Flipped the chippie over and spritz with water.
  • When absorbed, bend the leaves as you wish. Let it dry
  • Paint with Lime Cordial.
  • Cut apart as needed

Do you see the UmWowStudio Damask Stencil in the background?

What do you do with your Mishaps??
Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by.

She made room.....tag

Howdy UmWowStudio Fans.....

I had a snow day
and I created up a storm.
Had to trudge through the snow
the next morning to get to my photo area!

I pulled out a tag and
mixed a bit of paint and modeling paste together
and applied it through

When dry, I spritz with mist and then dropped Glam onto my tag
with a pippette. I gently spritzed my tag with water and let it dry.

I applied a bit of Multi Medium Matte to my tag
with a paint brush and then I sprinkled on a bit of Prills.

I then dry brushed on a bit of white gesso.

with Modeling Paste.
When dry I dropped Glam on the Small Ivy,
spritzed with a bit of water and dried it.
You can see my technique HERE!

I cut apart my UmWowStudio ~ Small Ivy into 3 pieces.
I cut up a piece of wire mesh and stapled it to my tag.

I pulled out a bunch of Mist and colored a few white flowers!!

Every tag needs a quote!

MoJo is on Vacation

Hi UmWowStudio fans.....
can I just say....I hate it when my creativity
decides to take a hiatus and I have a deadline!!
What do you do??
As for me...I start scanning challenges and mood boards
once again I landed on
Our Mixed Media Moods

so I just began creating.....
with no plan or any true inspiration.
I did like the transparency ideas
so I decided to begin there.
I pulled out a piece of Tissuestock
and a tub of Modeling Paste

Now, where I went from there is quite the journey.
I cut the Tissuestock into a tag,
painted the back with Glimmer Glam,
adhered another piece of Tissuestock ~ French Script,
then a piece of Kraft Cardstock
I colored things using
Distress Oxides
Glimmer Glam to name a few.
I was kinda getting there but still not really happy...

I thought that if maybe I began working on
the UmWowStudio Butterfly chipboard
Now, the one thing I LOVE about
UmWowStudio Chipboard
is it stands up to most anything you do to it
and still looks FABULOUS.
I painted my Butterfly,
added Glitter Glass,
cut the wings apart.
and spritzed the back with water.
You can actually watch the water
soak into the chipboard,
which allowed me to manipulate the chipboard.
Still not happy, I added more paint.
Now, it was beginning to take shape....
I adhered a piece of branch for the body
....and there it was.

I found a quote, stamped it onto a manila tag
and cut it apart.

It all worked....
though not my finest piece it was a great exploration
of various papers and medium
....and I'm HAPPY.

THANK YOU for stopping by.....

Life can JUST get CRAZY

Smile Wall Hanging by Lynne Forsythe, UmWowStudio, The Crafter's Workshop, Canvas Corp Brands, Impression Obsession, Tattered Angels, Relics and Artifacts

Sometimes life JUST gets CRAZY!

Classes to be designed, kits to be made,
deadlines to make, dr. appointments, etc
and then your body chooses not to play along!
and the stress builds......
what does one do???
EVERYTHING....all at once!
I had 4 projects going on all over my studio.

Hi UmWowStudio fans....
Lynne Forsythe here with my slightly edgy creation,
definitely outside my creative box!
(which is a good thing)

Smile Wall Hanging by Lynne Forsythe, UmWowStudio, The Crafter's Workshop, Canvas Corp Brands, Impression Obsession, Tattered Angels, Relics and Artifacts

My creation began with me trying some
"new to me" Black Modeling Paste.
I applied it through
an UmWowStudio ~ Damask Stencil

onto a Canvas Shape ~ Diamond,
which had been cut apart and folded over.

When dry, I spritzed the canvas shape with water and
with a round brush, applied a bit of Orange Glam
and let it wick into the canvas shape.

Staying with the "orange and black" color scheme
I pulled out a few
painted with Black Gesso and
Black Modeling Paste.
which I mixed Clear Modeling Paste with
Orange Glam, to create dimensional Poms.
I cut the chippies apart and nestled them into
the pocket behind the Visage,
which had been spritzed with Cornbread mist
and I dotted the eyes with a Sharpie.

I then accented the canvas shape with
pieces of a vintage zipper, buttons and trims
along with a bit of hand stitching.
I finished it off with a one of the Words for Art stamps,
Archival Ink and a bit of woven interfacing.

I hope you enjoyed my INSANITY and
my out of the box creating....
I know I did!
(and I got everything else done too!!)
