Life can JUST get CRAZY

Smile Wall Hanging by Lynne Forsythe, UmWowStudio, The Crafter's Workshop, Canvas Corp Brands, Impression Obsession, Tattered Angels, Relics and Artifacts

Sometimes life JUST gets CRAZY!

Classes to be designed, kits to be made,
deadlines to make, dr. appointments, etc
and then your body chooses not to play along!
and the stress builds......
what does one do???
EVERYTHING....all at once!
I had 4 projects going on all over my studio.

Hi UmWowStudio fans....
Lynne Forsythe here with my slightly edgy creation,
definitely outside my creative box!
(which is a good thing)

My creation began with me trying some
"new to me" Black Modeling Paste.
I applied it through
an UmWowStudio ~ Damask Stencil

onto a Canvas Shape ~ Diamond,
which had been cut apart and folded over.

When dry, I spritzed the canvas shape with water and
with a round brush, applied a bit of Orange Glam
and let it wick into the canvas shape.

Staying with the "orange and black" color scheme
I pulled out a few
painted with Black Gesso and
Black Modeling Paste.
which I mixed Clear Modeling Paste with
Orange Glam, to create dimensional Poms.
I cut the chippies apart and nestled them into
the pocket behind the Visage,
which had been spritzed with Cornbread mist
and I dotted the eyes with a Sharpie.

I then accented the canvas shape with
pieces of a vintage zipper, buttons and trims
along with a bit of hand stitching.
I finished it off with a one of the Words for Art stamps,
Archival Ink and a bit of woven interfacing.

Spring has SPRUNG!

The trees are sporting their baby leaves.
The animals are titterpated and

the birds are busy building their nests.
And FINALLY the sun has come out!

So, I thought embellishing a
Birdhouse would be apropos!
I began by covering my entire birdhouse
with white gesso.

I then cut paper to fit the sides of the birdhouse.

I then pulled out my
UmWowStudio Damask Stencil
and applied a bit of texture medium
through it.

When dry, I adhered the papers
to my birdhouse.
I spritzed my birdhouse and a bit of
vintage ric rack with a mist.

I applied a layer of texture medium to
a chippie for the
UmWowStudio Floral Collection
and then colored it with a bit o glam and mist.

I accented the
UmWowStudio Button Mash
with a bit of glam.

I had covered the roof with pieces of
decorative wood but I felt it needed something more.

So, I pulled out my
UmWowStudio ~ Grid stencil
and applied a bit of texture medium through it.

When dry I spritzed it all with a bit of mist.

Now, you know my birdhouse needed to
say something.
So, I chose a stamp, stamped it,
cut it out.

Here are a few closeups of my finished Birdhouse.

Do you see the little piece of the
UmWowStudio ~ Grid Border??

I hope you enjoyed my piece of Spring....

happy by Monika

Hello!

Today I'd like to share my newest art journal page. This small piece of mixed media is my daily reminder to not be complacent, to not limit myself to what I know and am comfortable with, but to look further afield, to be open minded, flexible to fully explore life.

I used two different stencil: Damask & Dahlia and some different chipboards.

I hope you'll feel inspired ;)

Guest Monika Huculak {Create Magic}

We have the talented Monika Huculak back today with this piece :

It seems so fitting to me that she's used the sentiment "Create magic" because her pieces are SO magical! They're full of whimsy and an artistic soul.

This delicious cluster is made up of our Leaf Stems set and Flourishes 2 set.

Our Star Confetti has been embedded into the background of this bit and then enhanced with some gesso and color. Just perfect! A tiny little bit of confetti to make the magic happen.

Our stencils are a great way to add some dimension and texture to your backgrounds. In this case Monika used our Damask Stencil with some stamping to work up her gorgeous background.

Thank you so much Monka for agreeing to be a guest member here! Your works are beautiful and we're so lucky to have had you.

Mixed Media Spread by Monika Huculak

Introducing Guest Creative Team Member : Monika Huculak

Today I get to share with you an Art Journal spread she has put together. It is so delicious.. full of texture and color. It makes my heart soar and my imagination happy.

A few words from Monika :
I pondered for a long time what could my project be. I decided on another art journal spread. Art journaling is my biggest pleasure. As you surely already know art journaling is the perfect place for all of your creative experiments. Art journaling does not require anything specific - you don't have to plan colors, put photo, composition or do journaling etc.

I'm always very spontaneous with colors never trying to be super precise. And I simply let my imagination run free!

Look at all the amazing color that Monika got on our Flourishes 2 chip. It accents the flourishes so well... and is so so dreamy!!

Tucked behind this gorgeous photo and surrounded by DELICIOUS texture is a piece from our Leaf Stems chipboard set.

Part of that delicious texture comes from our Damask Stencil.
