Oh so lovely

Hello everyone,

For today's project I have made an art journal spread. I kept it simple this time because sometimes less is more and I love how it turned out.

I had one piece of chipboard from the Flourishes Two set left and thought it would be nice to turn it into a swing for this little girl. I didn't alter the chipboard this time but left it natural. I tied some string on either side to represent her swing ropes.
The background was made with a piece of pattern paper which I found in my stash. I added some acrylic paint around the edges and behind the girl and also some stamping and doodling. The sentiment was actually the name of the pattern paper, it was printed on the bottom edge and I just cut it off because i thought it suited her.

I have used this set of chipboards:

You will find them HERE

Thank you for stopping by today !

Be gentle with yourself

Hello everyone,

It is time for another post from me today ! I really enjoy doing these projects as they are so different from anything else I do. Today I did a little tiny canvas. It is only about 3" x 3" or 10 cm x 10 cm. And here it is :

And here's how I made it:

I decided to heat emboss my flourish with copper embossing powder. I did change my mind in the end and heat embossed over the top with gold powder.

I embossed it about three times, so the layer of embossing on the flourish was really thick. I reheated it to make it soft again and then dropped some micro beads in the wet/soft embossing.

This is how it looks after I dropped the microbeads in. Cool huh ? I also added some gold paint here and there later but didn't take pictures. You can see the effect in the finished canvas.

For the canvas I applied crackle paste and coloured it with light yellow and burnt umber paints.. using some glazing fluid so it stayed wet longer and I could wipe most of it off again..

This is the result of both paints. I then added some stamping. You can see it in the end photos.
All stamps I used are by VivaLasVegaStamps!

Here are a few close ups of the flourish..

Apart from the canvas and the flourish, I used an original old photo which I found in an antique market. I am always on the lookout for stuff like this. I also used some music paper and some lace. The frame is from a cheap set of resin frames from the Dollar store which I painted and then used the same gold embossing powder over the top.

I used this chipboard today :

Choose your OWN path by Lynne

I am sooo excited to be posting today!!

THANK YOU for stopping by to take a peek...
to see how I created this greeting card.

I began my card by cutting strips of
a "paper" I made by adhering various strips
Tissuestock and vintage curtain pieces
to a piece of handmade chipboard.

I applied the strips to the card face and
spritzed the entire card with mist.

I then pulled out my box of UmWowStudio chippies
and chose
which I cut in half.

I then painted the chippie with gesso.

When dry, I spritzed it with mist.
LOVE how the color dried in the "pockets".

Next I pulled out a few pieces from the UmWowStudio

I globbed on some paint to color
the flourishes.

While my UmWowStudio chippies were drying
I started working on the rest...
I colored a few flowers,
and stapled a piece of chicken wire to my card.

I chose a bit of verbage to finish off my card.

a few more pictures....

Once again.....THANK BUNCHES for stopping by!!!!

just breathe by Lynne Forsythe

Hi UmWowStudio fans....
Lynne Forsythe here!

I wanted to share with you a "manly" card
I created for my love!
.....sometimes you have to tell yourself to
just breathe!

In my latest DT package I received
I opened up the package and found BEAUTIFUL earthy papers
PERFECT for my Man Card!

Now that I had my paper....
I pulled out my collection of UmWowStudio chippies
to find the PERFECT ONE!
and I DID!

http://umwowstudio.com/chipboard/vintage/100241.html

I cut a 6 x 8 piece of Palmistry from this collection, for my card.

I randomly dabbed TA Glimmer Glaze
on my chosen piece of chipboard
from the Flourishes Two
and sprayed it with TA Glimmer Mist.
LOVE THE LOOK!

I distressed the edges of the papers,
added a bit of
stitching and burlap for texture,
some paper tape
and a stamp here and there!

Finishing it off with a Word Sticker from 7Dots

Thank you for stoppin' by!

Hope you have a
WONDERFUL CREATIVE DAY

Guest Monika Huculak {Create Magic}

We have the talented Monika Huculak back today with this piece :

It seems so fitting to me that she's used the sentiment "Create magic" because her pieces are SO magical! They're full of whimsy and an artistic soul.

This delicious cluster is made up of our Leaf Stems set and Flourishes 2 set.

Our Star Confetti has been embedded into the background of this bit and then enhanced with some gesso and color. Just perfect! A tiny little bit of confetti to make the magic happen.

Our stencils are a great way to add some dimension and texture to your backgrounds. In this case Monika used our Damask Stencil with some stamping to work up her gorgeous background.

Thank you so much Monka for agreeing to be a guest member here! Your works are beautiful and we're so lucky to have had you.

Mixed Media Spread by Monika Huculak

Introducing Guest Creative Team Member : Monika Huculak

Today I get to share with you an Art Journal spread she has put together. It is so delicious.. full of texture and color. It makes my heart soar and my imagination happy.

A few words from Monika :
I pondered for a long time what could my project be. I decided on another art journal spread. Art journaling is my biggest pleasure. As you surely already know art journaling is the perfect place for all of your creative experiments. Art journaling does not require anything specific - you don't have to plan colors, put photo, composition or do journaling etc.

I'm always very spontaneous with colors never trying to be super precise. And I simply let my imagination run free!

Look at all the amazing color that Monika got on our Flourishes 2 chip. It accents the flourishes so well... and is so so dreamy!!

Tucked behind this gorgeous photo and surrounded by DELICIOUS texture is a piece from our Leaf Stems chipboard set.

Part of that delicious texture comes from our Damask Stencil.

very merry by Tusia Lech

Hello UmWowStudio fans :)

Here is Tusia Lech. Have you seen this month sketch? I was so inspired by it!!!

I created a layout, using lots of UWS goodies.

At first I cut nine squares and stamped the edges. And then I started to embellish all the squares :)

Below you can see a flair (Make a wish flair) with chipboard flourish (Flourishes two), that I have covered with gesso and then with Finnabair Golden Texture Paste.

Here I have used a tag (Explore Tags), that coordinates with Destination Unknown collection designed by DeeDee Catron for 7 Dots Studio. I sprayed it with Color Shine from Heidi Swapp and put it onto a larger tag, to create a dimension.

Letters for "very merry" text come from wonderful chipboard set - Alpha Two

Tiny houses with cute hearts are my favourites!!! I love adding them to my projects!! Below you can see them misted with Golden Color Shine.

I can be boring - I know :) - but I love love love UWS flairs!! They have flat back, so they are very easy for adhering onto any project. And the quality is just fabulous!!

Will you join UmWowStudio sketch challenge this month? If so, please use any UmWowStudio products - flair, chipboard, stencil :)

Here is full list of UWS supplies, I used:

Have a great day!
