My Altered PAINTBRUSH ~ a bucket list item

Hi UmWowStudio Fans!!!

Lynne Forsythe here....

I can't hardly believe it's Fall already....

where did my summer go??

My Heart and I have spent some time this summer
doing a few bucket list items. 

And I checked one off my list

an Altered Paintbrush.

I stumbled upon an Antique Store and found

a bucket with some old paintbrushes in it. 

I picked the one I liked....

brought it home 

and it sat

and it sat,

and it sat

on one of my work tables

until recently!!

Now, you may have seen my post on the

UmWowStudio Embellishments page. 

I worked at my paintbrush,

and I picked at 

and I arranged and rearranged it.

I was torn....color or no color.

I pondered on this question and more for days!!

and decided on.....only a little color.

I have to say.....I LOVE how my paintbrush came out!

Well hello again!

It's me, back with a new layout.

I surprised myself using shades of brown and kraft, 

I'm really not that type usually! 

On my chipboards, I applied ink directly on it. And then, I embossed it

with the Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel.

So here it is :

I had a LOT OF FUN with this little project....
my Chunky ATC.

I began with a piece of wood
cut to 2.5" x 3.5"
I painted all the edges black and
while waiting for the paint to dry....
I cut a 3.5" strip of
7 Dots Studio ~ Homegrown ~ Attic
from the strip I cut

(2) 2.5" x 3.5"
(2) 1.5"x 3.5"
(2) 1.5" x 2.5"

When the black paint was dry
I distressed the edges of the paper
and adhered them to the Chunky ATC.

I applied a layer of texture medium through
UmWowStudio's Handwriting Stencil
randomly all over the ATC.

When dry I spritzed the entire ATC with mist.
While still wet, I dug at the paper
exposing the core.

I painted one UmWowStudio's ~ Leaf Stems with paint.

I spritzed a piece of cheese cloth with mist.

I applied a layer of Gesso to my ATC
with a palette knife.

From here I began put my Chunky ATC together.

I tied a piece of red jute around the ATC
with a loopy bow in the front.

For accent I added a metal corner.

I tucked the colored cheese cloth
behind the jute.

I cut apart the UmWowStudio ~ Leaf Stem
and tucked it behind the flowers.

My creation just wouldn't be complete
with out some verbage.
I pulled out 7 Dot Studios ~ Homegrown ~ Word Stickers
and picked some words that spoke to my heart!

Can I just say I am GIDDDYYYY with excitement

about my first posting on the
UmWowStudios Creative Team!!!??!??!

I was already to create a step out tutorial

but became so engrossed in

the design process

I glued everything down

and didn't take a single picture....UGGGH!

The inspiration for my tag was "dark blue"

so I pulled out a bottle of Indigo ~ Color Burst

along with Platinum and Pewter ~ Liquid Metal and a

Kraft Tag....and played!

I ran Perfect Paints through

UmWowStudios ~ Handwriting Stencil.

While the tag was drying I began gathering supplies.

I dumped out the

UmWowStudios ~ Alpha ONE 

and began searching for the letters to spell

FINDING ME

finished off with a Sketchy Hearts MASH.

Now that I had a title.....

.....I just let the creative process flow.

stapling items to the tag

....including more of my favorite things
