The Queen has a visitor

Here's the piece I've done for Simon Says Stamp and Show using the colors from the Play Date Cafe. I've had this little bird cage for quite some time.. and have been thinking about what I wanted to do.. when SSSnS decided to do an Anything Goes and the PDC opted for black and white with a splash of red I knew I had it made!! Here is Queen Owl with a tiny visitor in her home :)

Since trying out for the BG DT I've LOVED using this owl in pieces.. It's definitely a "keep on hand ALL THE TIME stamp" Because the PDC says WHITE and black with a splash of red I white washed all the "cream" or "kraft" pieces with acrylic paint

Here is an image of the Queen's home with her little visitor.
Supplies: pearl strand, alcohol ink in watermelon, old vintage book, bottle cap, MME's Meadowlark, Diamond glaze, feathers, micro beads, wooden spools, TH's Mini bird die, TH's tattered florals die, E beads, mini cork and vial, faux black stamen, BG Cherry Cola paper, hot glue, acrylic paint.

Here are some of my favorite closeups:

Cage, thread, tinsel from MME's Union Square

Viva Las Vegastamps! Owl Stamp, smooth embossing powder, twine

Vintage eyelet lace, ribbon lace, E beads, cork and vial

I had SO much fun and am SO pleased with the way it turned out! =D

  4. Holy moly, DeeDee, this is utterly SENSATIONAL!! Love the color combo (actually just did that color palette a couple of weeks ago). The details are amazing - right down to wrapping the bars with silver and tinsel. The collection of items in the cage is wonderful too! So glad you shared it with us this week over at Simon Says. Thanks for coming along on the hop - especially hanging in all the way to the end so you got to my blog - LOL!
