June's Our Mixed Media Moods Challenge

Hi UmWowStudio Fans.....

Spring has popped....
the birds are singing 

and I am in the full throws of preparing the decorations

for my daughters upcoming wedding. 

Due to all the hubbub.....

I have been very lacking in inspiration of late

so I decided to pop over
to our fearless leader challenge....
Our Mixed Media Moods

everything about this mood board made my heart sing.

SOOOO.....I went to my box of UmWowStudio goodies
and decided to challenge myself to create with the
pieces parts that were floating around in the bottom of my box.

I then covered a piece of artboard
with vintage dictionary paper.

When dry, I spritzed it with water and tore off the

loose edges.

I then arranged the leftover chippies on my artboard.

I randomly applied Modeling Paste to the artboard

and used it as an adhesive to hold the chippies in place.

When dry, I applied a layer of Clear Gesso.

I didn't like the look of the semi painted chippies
so I created a slurry of Modeling Paste and water
and painted the chipboard.

When dry I applied another layer of Clear Gesso
to help facilitate the movement of color and water.

Now came the colors. I chose Desert Sun Glimmer Glaze
because I knew when it was dry it would be permanent.

Once dry, I spritzed the canvas with Sapphire Glimmer Mist.

Then, I used a baby wipe to take off some of the Sapphire
to expose more of the yellow.

I painted on a bit more Desert Sun then ran 

my Vintage Photo ink pad over top of the canvas. 

This made my heart sing....again!

I pulled out my package of
UmWowStudio ~ Home Grown Mash

and painted my chosen leaves green.

Our Mixed Media Moods March Challenge

Hi UmWowStudio Fans....

It's me...Lynne!

For my post I decided I would play along
with our Fearless Leader's challenge.....
Our Mixed Media Moods

And just in time for this challenge was the arrival

of a package of goodies from UmWowStudio
and guess what it was wrapped in
mustard yellow tissue paper......confirmation!

So, I pulled out an art board and adhered the tissue paper
and vintage farm weather paper to the board.

From there the layering began....

now to tell on myself....
I WAS REALLLLY STRUGGLING
with the mustard yellow color!

Because of that....I did more layering...

then I applied
and overall spritz of Glimmer Mist.

Still not totally happy I layered on a bit of
Crackle Paint and more Glimmer Glaze and Glimmer Mist.
Finally I was HAPPY!

I had used some of the tissue paper to dab
the products I had added to my canvas,

so I cut out a few flowers.

I painted it with the Black Gesso and
spritzed with a bit of Glimmer Mist.

I used a few twigs wrapped with wire.

I finished it off with a FABULOUS QUOTE!

May Sketch!

Whoop! I totally messed up last month by calling April's sketch MARCH's sketch and now I'm thinking MAY ?! it surely can't be that far into 2015... but I suppose when you measure by challenge dates.... x.x lol.

Welcome to May's sketch challenge by UmWowStudio!

This sketch has that whole two pieces of paper vibe going on --- a big white one on the right with an even bigger patterned paper on the left. Use your chipboard, stencils and flair plus anything else you want to help blend the two together and make a nice cohesive layout. or card. or altered bit. or whatever!

I really want to try a HUGE photo right in the middle.. maybe even taking up the entire top space. And I'm kind of a cluster freak. and a stamping freak. So enjoy!!

March Sketch

Hello :)

Here is Tusia Lech. It is March already and I would like to encourage you to take part in UmWowStudio Sketch challenge :) You can win awesome goodies from UmWowStudio!! Below you will see an inspiring sketch.

You can make any type of project - art-journal page, layout, card, tag, ATC or anything, what makes you happy to create. Please use any UmWowStudio item or items, include a DIRECT link to your blog post, mention how you were inspired, and which UmWowStudio products you used. That's it :) 

And here is my layout. I have used Love Speech Bubbles chipboards. Because the title of my layout is "My reason" and the photo, I have used, show my sweet, little daughter, these chipboards were ideal. 

I have covered them with gesso, then I sanded them, to show partially original chipboard. On the photo below you see bubble with "love" - dots surrounded this word were made using white Sharpie Pen.

On another chipboard, after painting it with gesso and uncover a little bit, I applied pink Gelato.

Beautiful flair with crown and word "princess" comes from UmWowStudio Our Princess flair set.

At the background you can see very light pink circles - I sprayed pink Lindy's Stamp Gang mist through UmWowStudio Circle Confetti mask.
