Stars and film strips

Hello friends!
It's Marta here.
Today I have for you two Artist Trading Cards,
where I used UmWowStudio chipboards.

I used:

I decorated chipboards with stars
using Gelatos. I covered chipboard with
the layer of golden Gelato stick.

Later I covered chipboard with the layer of 3D gloss gel
for protection and to make Gelato permanent.

You can use any color you want.

Thank you for stopping by!

Surf by Magali

I think you will hate me! :)
I promise this is the last Winter layout you will see from me here... as we finally can have some warm weather (at least in Quebec, Canada).

I've made this layout a few weeks ago but I did not take the time to show it to you. I had the idea to ue the wonderful cute tabs and create a banner with them all. I must tell you that I love the result.
The little hearts around my title come from the heart tabs, so it's like having two products in one package!

For this layout, I used:

art-journal pages by Tusia Lech

Hello! Welcome in New Year! I hope it will be an awesome year for you and for me :)

Today I would like to show you my art-journal pages, that I created in round robin journal of my friend Eliza. She gave us an old book and asked us to use it also :) My art-journal pages are about looking after ourselves - our beauty and health - and the book, I have used, was published more than 50 years ago :)

I will show you, how I created the title page (the whole art-journal consists of such pages, like mine - with title page and inner pages.

I took 2 different colors of embossing powder and Emboss It Dabber from Ranger - for me it is the most convenient medium for applying embossing powders on the UmWowStudio chipboard pieces.

I covered UmWowStudio Love Speech Bubbles with two different colors of embossing powders.

And then I layered two pieces creating the title label.

Inside I created background using UmWowStudio Hexagon Mask and Heidi Swapp White spray.

I have added also some chipboard Nautical Stars and Twinkle Speech Bubbles

I highlighted the edges with white Sharpie pen.

All splashes are created with White Ecoline.

I Reckon So

Hello everyone! Hope you're all having a wonderful day! Today I'm sharing with you my "not so typically romantic" romantic page:) I appreciate how UmWowStudio products can be used for such diverse subjects....including love and romance, while not being obviously so (unless you want it to be!).

I started off with paper from 7Dots Studio, Nature Walk and put some slabs of primary colors (mixed with molding paste for texture). After that I used a bunch of UmWowStudio goods.

I used the Twinkle Speech Bubbles to frame our question and answer. Left them raw of course, as I thought that would pop more against the bright primary colors. This Day Hashtag Banners add that extra bit of fun (and straight lines against the curves)...I also left them raw for the same reasons.

And aren't these Alpha ONE letters just the right size for fitting into the word bubbles? I painted them white to contrast against the raw chippies.

I couldn't decide which flair I wanted to use between the Sidewalk Chalk and Mustard 29 flair so I used both! For the Sidewalk Chalk heart I used the same acrylic blue paint as I did on my paper, on the space around the flair to make it match my paper. The yellow "love" flair I left alone as it fit my page perfectly. I added a teeny tiny "potty" couple from the fun Love Confetti collection (so fun!) to finalize that embellishment cluster.

Hope you have a creative day!

How To Use The Sketch for Project Life

Hi, Lisa back with you today. If you saw the sketch yesterday and loved it as much as I do, you know you are going to create a 12x12 page with it this month, but if you also do project life/pocket scrapbooking I wanted to share two ways you can use the sketch to inspire a card you will love.

First of all, if you take out just the middle "white"  part of this sketch you can see how it will fit nicely into a 4x6 card. I used a bold yellow patterned paper as the base, adding on white cardstock, and lots of detail in the same fashion as the sketch design. My favorite is how the simple Star Confetti chipboard and Twinkle Speech Bubbles toned down the boldness of the yellows I chose in the papers, embellishments and washi tape. I even added yellow thread and yellow pant splotches to draw the the whole monochromatic theme together. I love using color in my design process.  But it may have been harder without the sketch and been way too bright for my style without the gentle tone of the chipboard.

In this design, the photo is the base for the design. I treated the photo as the white portion of the sketch. This came together quickly with a little washi, a star and arrow brad and lots of thread and Star Confetti.  I really love the finished products and may not have thought to layer a photo up this way without this month's sketch!

I hope you will all play along with us this month! Thank you for peeking at how I used the sketch!
