Bee Bag with Jen Matott

Hey crafty friends!  I want to share a fun altered project with you!  I got this cute canvas bag for another project and knew I wanted to use lots of color and hexagons on it!   I love the possibilities of a blank canvas.

I used UmWowStudio Hexagon Mask sideways to create areas of color using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos® Colors Brights set.  I also outlines some of them with a Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft PITT® Artist Pen in Black.
I used Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Texture Luxe™ in Gold to add texture and metallic shine to some UmWowStudio Hexagon Confetti Chipboard.  This stuff is shiny and so pretty on the chip!
Now the pièce de résistance for the bag is the stitched "bee".  I know the stencil is not a bee but I wanted to create one looking like a bee.  So, I traced some of the stencil with pen and left a few details of to create a more bee-like shape.

A backstitch was used in yellow gold thread. I love how it looks on this bag!

I hope you enjoyed my project using UmWowStudio chip and stencils!

Spring Tag by Jen

Does it feel like Spring might never come to anyone else? It has snowed in Central New York for a month with 3-4 feet on the ground (actually up to my windows) and the air so cold it hurts to breathe when you step outside!  I am so ready for a warm up!  So to brighten my cold, dreary, winter day, I made a spring tag with some UmWow Studio lovelies.
I needed some gorgeous color so after priming the chip with Faber-Castell Design  Memory Craft Gesso, I added a rainbow of Gelatos®to the tag.  Gorgeous!
So pretty with the raised texture from the stencil and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Whipped Spackle.   Adding some UmWow Studio Flower Confetti and Alphas to create a fun ode to Spring!

Doesn't that chip just look amazing with the colored Gelatos®?  Makes it all tie together (with some ribbon and canvas threads, of course).
So, HELLO winter... here's the "#Memo". We want Spring in the worst way!  Come on, pretty please?
A little bee flair to give it some more spring and we are done!  I'm displaying this prominently on my mantel to remind me that it will be here sooner or later... sooner please!

art-journal pages by Tusia Lech

Hello! Welcome in New Year! I hope it will be an awesome year for you and for me :)

Today I would like to show you my art-journal pages, that I created in round robin journal of my friend Eliza. She gave us an old book and asked us to use it also :) My art-journal pages are about looking after ourselves - our beauty and health - and the book, I have used, was published more than 50 years ago :)

I will show you, how I created the title page (the whole art-journal consists of such pages, like mine - with title page and inner pages.

I took 2 different colors of embossing powder and Emboss It Dabber from Ranger - for me it is the most convenient medium for applying embossing powders on the UmWowStudio chipboard pieces.

I covered UmWowStudio Love Speech Bubbles with two different colors of embossing powders.

And then I layered two pieces creating the title label.

Inside I created background using UmWowStudio Hexagon Mask and Heidi Swapp White spray.

I have added also some chipboard Nautical Stars and Twinkle Speech Bubbles

I highlighted the edges with white Sharpie pen.

All splashes are created with White Ecoline.

come too late - art-journal by Tusia Lech

Hello UWS fans :)

Lately I journal a lot and today I would like to share with you one of my journal spread. I played with gorgeous UWS stencils using different media - I will try to tell you a little bit about techniques I used.

I began with priming both pages with Finnabair Clear Gesso. It gives tooth and prevents all media from soaking through the pages.

Then I applied Luminarte Silks using wide brush. Next step was gluing down some paper stripes. And then - the magic begins :) I started to play with UWS stencils and different media.

Above you can see UWS Hexagon Mask - I sprayed Glimmer Mist through it. On top of it I applied Finnabair 3D Matte Gel mixed with LSG Magicals using UWS Circle Confetti Mask

UWS Circle Confetti Mask was used by me also with Finnabair 3D Gloss Gel (last photo) and Glimmer Mists (photo below). Each layer had been dry, before I have applied the next one. A cherry on a top was a chipboard from UWS Love Confetti Chipboard set.

I have added some stamping using Nature Walk (7 Dots Studio) stamp set and alpha stamps.

On the photo below you can see also flying butterflies, that I created using Glimmer Mist and wonderful UWS Butterfly Swarm Mask.

Final step was creating some splashed using white Ecoline and adding some drawing using pencil.

I hope you liked my art-journal :) Thank you for visiting UmWowStudio blog today!
