Guest Creative Team Member : Nadia Cannizzo

Today we have the super talented Nadia Cannizzo joining us, I'm sure glad we nabbed her up before she got so busy! She's now sitting pretty on Prima Marketing's Design Team as well as the 7 Dots Studio Design Team. Thanks for being a guest, Nadia!!

A bit about Nadia:
Hi my name is Nadia Cannizzo, I am of Greek origin, a primary school teacher , 35 and together with my husband of 15 years we live in the suburbs of beautiful Sydney Australia raising our 3 young daughters.
I started creating cards about 7 years ago and moved on to scrapbooking about 5 years ago. I have had my ups and downs through out my creative journey  but have stuck it out and this is the longest hobby I have ever had. Well.. it is more than a hobby I must admit. It is what I call therapy. From the thrill I get when something new arrives at my doorstep, to the incredible people I have met online, I can definitely credit this "hobby" with getting me through some very difficult times.
It is always a pleasure to discover new manufacturers and UmWowStudio is one of my favourites right now so I am very excited to be here to share with you a project I created with UmWowStudio products. Thank you DeeDee for having me :)
Please stop by my blog some time : Just My Scrapping World

Sketch Inspiration {Daddy's Gloves 12x12}

Hello Hello!! DeeDee here again, today.

Today I'm inspiring you using yesterday's grungy stampy delicious sketch! (Which you have all month to enter, of course)

The sketch!

And I worked up the following 12x12 based on it.

As you can see, that's my Oobaloob (Gabe) wearing his daddy's work gloves. He makes the cutest faces when I take photos, so I knew the photobooth styled photos in the sketch would be a perfect way to show them off. The paper base is from our dear friends at 7 Dots Studio from the brand new Cold Country line by Finnabair.

I took advantage of the grungyness in the sketch by laying out some Blick gesso underneath the spot for my photo. I've layered up tons of Viva Las VegaStamps! rubber stamps (Color Wheel Lines, Coffee Ring Stain, Victorian Flourish, Waybill/Invoice Background and Rear View Vintage Car) all in black Archival Ink by Ranger. In this cluster there's some Gauche Alchemy Washi Tape, Element Die Cuts from Nature Walk by 7 Dots Studio, Prima embellishments, and an UmWowStudio bit from the Gear Mash which has been swiped with a black ink pad.

Here is a bit more stamping and clustering, including a piece of Chevron ribbon from May Arts, those great stamps from VLVS!, a Prima brad, a tag reinforcement from the Soar Tag set and a piece of flair from Moon Shine.

Here's a great close up of what our fabulous chipboard looks like with just a dab o' ink! Take any color ink of any type ink pad you want, and just swipe it right across your chipboard piece. If you press hard enough it will color the whole thing, or you can lighten up a bit and get a more mottled, grungy effect like this. I used a Black Archival pad by Ranger to swipe across a couple pieces from the Layered Triangles. You can also see in this photo a bit of the checker pattern from our Checker Board Mask. I just misted a bit o' instant coffee through the mask for a nice dull but noticeable effect.

And finally... I used one of the frames from the Movie ATC frames set, chopped off 1/3 of it and slid it under my raised photo sequence. It's a great anchor. The title is 'Daddy's Gloves' and was made using a basic dymo label maker. I also finished off with some random stamping around the page using a date stamps to mark the occasion.

Thanks for stopping by to see me today :) It's always a pleasure to connect with the UmWowStudio fans. See you next time♥ DeeDee

Dream by wiosanka

Hello!
Sometimes life is not so easy and happy as we would like it to be... There is a tough time in ones life sometimes and I must admit that now it is me that is standing face to face with difficult decisions and hard time...
But one thing I know for sure. Everything in our lifes has sense. Everything that happens to us is for something. So if You feel sad, or You feel that everything is going wrong, take a deep breath, smile and... learn Your lesson... let things flow, learn Yourself to go with this flow...

And You'll see - everything is gonna be ok :-) Soon :-)

Guest CT Member Kasia

Today we've got a special treat brought by a Guest Creative Member Kasia

Kasia says "Hi! My name is Kasia Bogatko and I’m from Poland. I’ve been scrapbooking for 2011 and now I’m totally addicted. Media are my biggest love right now. I'm still learning them and I try to show their different faces in my artworks.
I love splashes, stains, texture… My favorite forms are LO, canvas, and recently even art-journal.
You can find me here: http://scrapowanieciri.blogspot.com "

And she has this lovely layout to share with us :

The base of her layout is Nature Walk from 7 Dots Studio (there's still some in the shop here), she's layered up bits n pieces from the collection, tags, words and more.

She's also used the Soar Tag set and the Feather Trio on her layout.

Such a beautiful layout, let her know what you think by leaving a comment below! Thanks so much for joining us and sharing your stunning work, Kasia!

Look At The Stars

Hello everyone!

Don't you love it when a page or project comes together easily? Well I've had this photo of my daughter for several years, waiting for the "right" way to scrap it. Then I pulled out the beautiful UmWowStudio Soar Tags and suddenly something clicked and voila! I had a page!

I started by covering parts of the tags with gesso. Next, I randomly splattered the tags with a Distress stain. I then misted them with a Dylusions ink and ended with some flicks of a Tattered Angels spray. As you can see, I kept everything in the blue family.

The flairs from the Dream a Little Dream set went so well with this page not only because of the color scheme but because of the theme. All I did was add a little pat of glitter to them.

And another tag....isn't that butterfly cut out so lovely? Of course I had to use Confetti Stars....I can hardly make a page without them. They are dressed up with gesso, Lumiere acrylic paints and dabbed with glitter.

I do love this phrase......

I hope you enjoyed this! Have a wonderful day!

Supplies:

7 Dots Studio: Love is in the Air
Distress Stain
Dylusions ink

Lovely Day

Hello :-)

It is wiosanka today with my first post on UmWoW Studio blog :-) I prepared a boyish, fun layout with georgeous UmWow Studio products and a photo of my sons :-)

One of Soar Tags and little circles chipboards fit excellent to amazing Nature Walk papers and stamps, designed by wonderful DeeDee Catron for 7 Dots Studio :-) As good as yellow flair with a heart :-)

To make my layout funky I used Circle Confetti Mask to put gesso through it.
