30

Good morning friends.
I recently celebrated my 30th birthday. I wanted to capture the fun of this landmark with an equally fun layout. I have been playing a lot more with my art supplies on layouts, and had the idea to swap paper colors with opposite paint colors. Using my paints as a photo mat, I swapped the colors for a fun look.
I knew right away that I wanted to use a large UWS speech bubble frame as a statement embellishment. I had splurged on Martha Stewart micro beads when they first came out, and have yet to truly use them. I chose to cover my frame in gold micro beads for just the right pop of bling that I was going for.
Keeping with the gold theme, I chose to cover my chosen celebrate confetti with my gold ink pad. Isn't that mini balloon just perfection for a birthday layout! I came across this Dr. Suess quote online and felt it perfect for this page. I chose to carry it along my paper bubbles for an added playfulness and movement.
Thank you for checking on our new project! I hope I inspired you to play with your paints an old embellishments, making them new again!

be happy by Tusia Lech

Hello :)

Sometimes everyone needs a reminder, to be happy. Even the most smiled and positive person. Sometimes there are days, when not everything goes well. I created this mini book as a reminder for myself :)

On the cover I placed wonderful flair from Sidewalk Chalk set. But before I did it, I created background using gesso and VivaLasVegas stamps (six hexagons.washi chevron)

UWS Scallop tag book is a wonderful base - I love the thickness and the color!! You can easily use white or black media on it and everything looks just great!!

I have used 7 Dots Studio stickers and die-cut elements from Illumination and Nature Walk collection. The quotes are very inspiring!

I have added some sequins, some thread, couple of crystals and metal embellishments.

When you buy any UWS tag book, you receive also big binding ring so you can add more pages or create really dimensional piece of art.

"Feed your soul", "Love the life you love", "See good in other people" - uplifting messages changing the energy surrounding the one, who reads it.

Such a small tag book could be also a great gift to a friend. Everyone can make the difference in the world, even with something that seems to be quite small.... "A butterfly effect". Remember it.

Dogalicious X 2

Hello and Happy Thursday.  Tina here today with a light-hearted layout featuring my two pups - Moose & Flikka.

One of the main reasons I love creating with chipboard, especially UmWowStudio chipboard, is that allows you to add more dimension and texture to layouts, no matter who the supplier or collection is.  Raw chipboard is one of the most versatile products you can have in your stash, and it never runs out of style.

I had recently purchased this bright and cheerful collection from Fancy Pants.  I knew I wanted to create a layout featuring my dogs, but I wanted more dimension and color to my layout.

Heat embossing chipboard is super easy and a great way to do just that.

I embossed Distressed Harlequin chip to be used as a backdrop for my photo, and several pieces from the Layered Triangle chip set.  They added just the perfect touch of dimension, texture, and color to my layout.  Love it!

What is your favorite way to enhance your chip?  Please share your tips and ideas!  I'm always looking for new ways to use my chip!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

I Reckon So

Hello everyone! Hope you're all having a wonderful day! Today I'm sharing with you my "not so typically romantic" romantic page:) I appreciate how UmWowStudio products can be used for such diverse subjects....including love and romance, while not being obviously so (unless you want it to be!).

I started off with paper from 7Dots Studio, Nature Walk and put some slabs of primary colors (mixed with molding paste for texture). After that I used a bunch of UmWowStudio goods.

I used the Twinkle Speech Bubbles to frame our question and answer. Left them raw of course, as I thought that would pop more against the bright primary colors. This Day Hashtag Banners add that extra bit of fun (and straight lines against the curves)...I also left them raw for the same reasons.

And aren't these Alpha ONE letters just the right size for fitting into the word bubbles? I painted them white to contrast against the raw chippies.

I couldn't decide which flair I wanted to use between the Sidewalk Chalk and Mustard 29 flair so I used both! For the Sidewalk Chalk heart I used the same acrylic blue paint as I did on my paper, on the space around the flair to make it match my paper. The yellow "love" flair I left alone as it fit my page perfectly. I added a teeny tiny "potty" couple from the fun Love Confetti collection (so fun!) to finalize that embellishment cluster.

Hope you have a creative day!

Happy Birthday Tag with Jen

Hi artsy friends!  Today is a fantastic day here in my neck of the woods and it is my 40th birthday!!  So, for my project, I made a birthday tag to share with you all...  I have many friends that have birthdays in August too.  Every birthday is a time to celebrate!

"Make a Wish Tag"
I got my hands on some of the brand new UmWowStudio Sequin Confetti and knew I had to do something fun with them! I love the color of UmWowStudio's chipboard so I didn't want to color them but I did mix them with bright colored plastic sequins too.  I also turned one of the Layered  Clouds into a cupcake top!  The Make a Wish Pocket Chip was perfect for this tag with it's adorable size and punched out words and chevron.
I did color the background tag with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos® in Mango, Bubble Gum, Tangerine, Lemon, Raspberry, Blueberry, Lime, Snow Cone, Gold Champagne, and Iced Chai
Using Faber-Castell Design Memory Crafts Textural Accents Whipped Spackle, I put it through a Circle Confetti Stencil to create depth and texture.   Those drips and splatters made it even more of a celebration!  I did paint the Make a Wish Pocket Chip with watered down Gesso before splattering with cool colored Gelatos.
The cupcake wrapper was stamped on patterned paper and the Layered Cloud was covered with WOW Embossing powder in Vodka Sparkle.
A flair button was added too for another circle accent along with the confetti and doily.
I finished the tag off with ribbon and some Chevron Confetti.  This is a festive way to adorn a gift, bottle of wine or attached to some flowers!

August Sketch Inspiration with Rhonda

Happy Saturday to you! Rhonda here today to share my take on our new fabulous August sketch.

Did you get a chance to check it out yet?  If not here's the sketch:

Here's my take on the sketch:

I loved the design and stayed pretty close to it. You'll see a variety of UmWowStudio products on my page. One of my favorites, the Doilies was my starting point, along with the Damask Mask.  I base coated the doily in a pretty cream paint and then touched some Inka Gold for a bit of shimmer.

The sentiment flair was perfect to accent my photo here. On our recent vacation I was able to snap a few sweet candid shots. A love speech bubble was inked with a rainbow ink pad, then rubbed with some more Inka Gold to keep the bit of shimmer.

A few more layers were added with the Soar Tag which I stamped and embossed, then wasn't so happy with the look, so I painted over it. This gave the perfect texture and I left it. A Layered Arrow was coated with a Pearl Pen in Opal.

I had such a wonderful time working with the sketch and our products, I really hope you'll find some time and play along. For all of the details on our August Sketch, check out this post
