As I was perusing through a couple of my favorite challenge sites, I noticed a common theme this week/month - TAGS.
and who doesn't love a gorgeous vintage tag? I thought it might be nice to make a tag about me and Mr. DeeDee - so the center of my flower is our last name initial. For the OCC and SSS challenges here's the tag I made this evening:
Materials Used: Making Memories paper, Tim Holtz Ink/mask/photo real ribbon, Basic gray paper for the flowers, a type writer letter brad, 22 gauge wire, raffia, random lace and the ticket is from http://misscutiepiegoes80s.blogspot.com/

Giving Thanks
I'm not sure if you saw my post about Julie from Favorite Things wanting everyone's help for a couple gals going through some things this holiday season. She was asking for those who had the time and resources to donate 2 thank you cards that the girls could give out to all those helping them!
Her stipulations were fall colors, and of course to share on Favorite Things.
Here are the two I did, I'll put them in envelopes tomorrow and make sure they go out on Monday!
Made with: a kraft base, raffia, the DWCV Amber Autumn stack, distress ink, floral pearls and some chipboard letters!
Made with: The same DCWV Stack, random cut butterflies from the Martha Stewart punch, a white card base, a chatterbox stamp, and distress inks.

XMas Spirit
Here are a few projects in the spirit of Christmas =)
I wanted to retake photos of my Card example of SM this week - they seemed a bit blurry, and I'd like to show more of the detail.

Products Used: Punchinella, white acrylic paint, heavy wire, pearls, random bits n pieces, a rusted star, tiny paper clip, a graphic from The Graphics Fairy, KaiserCraft paper.
Then I got a special order for some Christmas flowers, and I definitely had fun with these, she wanted six lighter flowers and then six more original colored ones:

Homemade Cupcake Stand!!
Ok first of all.. you have to check out this super easy peasy lemon squeezy tutorial that Heidi did on a Peppermint Cupcake Tier - Hers is red and white and painted like peppermint candy with four tiers. I only needed 3 tiers.. and decided on bright yellow with white swirls.. for the DR. SUESS BABY SHOWER!.
Here's my first installation of baby shower goodness (my fantastic Mother-in-law is throwing the baby shower, I'm just doing the crafty parts she can't!):
I went to a second hand store.. and found two plastic plates, one regular round one (the middle) and one chips n dip server (bottom) and then found this really random black walnut plate with that SUPER cool triangle handle already attached to it.. (the top) I don't know what it would be used for but it fit so perfect! The tiers in the middle are some ceramic vases super tiny and petite but those swirled sides seemed to fit SO well!
Just like Heidi, I painted everything white, then used contact paper to mask what I didn't want yellow and sprayed yellow.
Hoorah for success!!!!

CC Challenge 5 - Trying out 4 Cirque du soGABE
I'm feeling pretty good about most of these entries!!
# five was a scraplift challenge - to find a scrap layout by someone on CC and adopt it for your own use. The rules were to change 3 specific things, but that inspiration had to be pretty recognizable.
I chose a layout titled BFFs by the user luckysmom on CC.
I loved the large title, and the paper with the huge pattern, eliminating a lot of embellishments. I also liked the large square that created the focal point for her photos and journaling.
And I've had this cirque du soleil idea in my head for a while.. then A Few Of My Favorite Things had a "Sports" Challenge... SOOOO Here's my interpretation:
Used: FancyPants paper, Lime rickey by BG, random ribbons, pins by MM, random buttons and tickets, Zebra wire, Art Blanche chipboard, black uni ball pen, adhesive, distress ink, and dymo label maker.

CC Challenge 2 - Supper Menu
This challenge was a 2 day part... in part1 they listed a bunch of dinner choices for different courses.. then on day 2 what your choices meant were revealed. I ended up with Orange, Square, Something Punched, and Chipboard.
I needed to do a 12x12 layout for our halloween pumpkin carving, so this was PERFECT!
used the DCWV Stack "Midnight's Spell" - did some doodling, distressing with distress inks, the ribbon is from last year so not sure about the maker, punched out some fun glittery pumpkins from the stack and hung with raffia, the big bat is mounted on a piece of chipboard and the small ones are drawn!

CC Challenge 7 - Weaving + Follow your dreams
This challenge was about using paper weaving as an element in your card - I chose browns and blues and just ran with what I had!
Made the flower of course:
Fancy Pants papers for the weaving and flower, had some lace laying around.. and I believe the tag is MyMind'sEye with a CTMH stamp, Zing embossing powder, distress ink and a couple of random brads!

CC Challenge 3 - Hello Birdie

Here's my easel card:
Using: Indian Summer By BG, distress inks... and that's it!

CC Challenge - R is for Read
The project was a layout based on this ad, and if you're not already participating I'd suggest so, so far the challenges have been super fun!
Besides the grid layout of the ad I loved the subtle areas that parts of the ad overlapped the grid, here's my interpretation:
I used mostly BasicGrey's Lime Rickey collection, with a black pen, some adhesive, distress ink, and photo corners.
