That time again! CREATIVE TEAM CALL

I can't believe it's THAT time again.

Creative Team Call TIME! We are looking for a few great people to demonstrate to the industry our beautiful products!

Requirements:

• Supply 2 projects (card set, layout, altered item, mixed media) per month due at a specified time for the UmWowStudio blog following criteria. One in tutorial form, one in inspiration form.
• Actively promote your project via your own blog and social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.
• Display the Creative Team Member button on your blog. 

In Return:

• You will receive an abundance of UmWowStudio chipboard, flair and masks.
• Be promoted all over OUR Social Media platforms and blog. 
• Be permanently linked to via our blog. 
• Participate in cross promotions with other companies.

To Be Considered:

• Provide me with your name, mailing address, email address and phone number.
• Include and showcase 2-3 of your best and or favorite projects. (I'd love to see LINKS to posts on your blog if they're there) If you have chipboard-centric projects, it won't hurt to share one :)
• Tell me why you'd like to be considered.

Here I am to show you a layout with the wonderful Destination Unknown collection of 7 Dots Studio designed by our wonderful DeeDee! :) It was such a pleasure to work with these papers and I had the perfect picture : my two older boys with their pirate and shark costumes!

As this collection comes with lots of nautical embellishments, it was perfect for this layout.

As you can see, I coloured the star chipboards in white and I dit it with iRESISTible ink, a perfect way to add an enamel shine to wood chipboards.

Hi everyone! I just completed a new layout with my UmWowStudio goodies and wanted to share my technique for altering some of the tabs.

Here's how I made those cute little tabs that are on top of my photos:

First, gather some gesso, your tabs, and your favorite twine. I used clear gesso because it looks better if you decide to let part of the bottom tab peek through. It also helps to forget to remove the price tag from the big giant bottle of gesso. Do not skip this step! lol

Paint some gesso onto the bottom tab. This helps to hold the twine in place as you are winding it around. I also add a dollop of hot glue to the back sometimes to hold the twine down. Then, begin winding the twine around the tab.

Keep wrapping the twine around the tab until it is as full as you like.  When you are finished, just glue the twine down on the back and cut off the excess.

I painted the top tab white, but if you like a more natural look, just leave it raw. The last step is to attach the top tab to the bottom. I used hot glue to attach mine.

Life is full of meaning. And there are so many moments each day, that are precious. I love to catch them and collect them. One of my method is taking photos. One of such amazing photos is below - on my layout.

I have used gorgeous UmWowStudio chipboard, flair and mask. At the background you can see drawn stars - I have used Chunky Star Mask. 

I have used also star chipboards - UmWowStudio Layered Stars.

You can see also some 7 Dots Studio products (from Illumination and Soulmates collections). I love UmWowStudio flairs - the sun below comes from Moon Shine Flair set.

Destination Unknown {7 Dots Studio & UmWowStudio MASH UP}

Hello folks! DeeDee here today to inspire you with Destination Unknown!!!

I can't say it often enough... so here I go again. I'm SO lucky to get to design papers for the wonderful company 7 Dots Studio. I'm just as equally lucky to own UmWowStudio and design pieces I want... AND I'm even more just as lucky to get to coordinate the two!

During the month of May the DT from 7 Dots Studio and the CT from UmWowStudio are inspiring you using the collection from both companies... we'll here I am today, as the owner, creator, and artistic mind behind Destination Unknown to inspire you :) 

I've put together a couple of tags to share. 

The tag bases are two pieces of watercolor paper cut using the Sizzix / Tim Holtz #8 die. I use this die for almost EVERY tag base, because it allows me to cut this nice large delicious tag from any sheet of almost any material that I desire. Fan girl!

The tags have then been layered up with lots of deliciousness like dimensional adhesive, altered chipboard, fibers, a Waybill/Invoice background stamp from VLVS! and more. Both tags also have a layer of the Destination Unknown Diecut Tags from 7 Dots Studio.

The left tag is comprised of a chunk o' May Arts Webbing to resemble a fishing net, some atlas paper, and pieces of UmWowStudio chipboard from the Sea Life Set, Coral and Mermaid Duo. The chipboard has been altered with Gesso and Glimmer Mist.

The right tag is layered up with a distressed piece of cheese cloth, washi tape, paper doily, some sewing and a Viva Las VegaStamps! rubber stamp { Whale Tail }. It's also got layers of UmWowStudio chipboard from the Sand Dollar and Starfish sets. The Starfish Wishes is a sentiment sticker from the sheet included in the 7 Dots Studio Destination Unknown collection pack. 

Both tags were finished with some May Arts burlap twine.

Guest Designer NICOLETTA {ATC trio}

We have invited Nicoletta Zanella to guest design for us and I'm excited to share her project with you.

First -- a bit about Nicoletta:

I'm Nicoletta I'm 34 and I'm Italian. I live in a village in the hills near the Adriatic Sea with my husband and my two sons Alice and Samuel.
Since childhood I have always drawn and painted, i studied art in high school with a jewelry specialization and i majored in Medieval Art History at the University. Since i known Mixed Media Art i began to discover and learn more mixed media techniques because i was falling in love with this art form. Now Mixed Media Art is my favorite way to express my creativity!

I made these ATC cards with a very positive message: Let life surprise you!
Every day life can surprise us and today is a day that life surprise me because I'm guest of a very cool artist DeeDee Catron.

In these ATC cards I represent this message with a constellation of stars and nothing is most surprising of universe above us.

I made a very colorful and vibrant background with layers of gesso and watercolor shades. I represented the stars with beautiful composition of stars of UmWowStudio Star Confetti Stencil and I added UmWowStudio Circle Confetti. I wrote the sentiment with UmWowStudio Alpha Confetti and I like very much these letters!

I finish with resin to give a light beam to the stars.
