New Videos + LIVE today :D

Hi Folks!! Thanks for helping me welcome the fabulous creative team! I'll be making a permanent spot for them shortly on the blog :)

In other news I've done TWO new videos.. One that helps describe the Layered Chip and how they work together!

And one that uses the layered clouds to create a framed beaded cloud!

We'll be uploading more videos to our Youtube channel, so don't forget to subscribe!

I'll also be putting on a LIVE show today on how to put together my Sing a little song tag which features the cloud above :) Come on over and we can communicate live! :)

A Sad goodbye

I have to apologize for the lack of posting...

.. on top of launching our new Chip and adjusting to that my father was killed in a car accident St. Patrick's Day evening.

I'll be back soon with projects and sneak peeks. I promise.

Tattered Floral Challenge - a bracelet

It just so happens Mr. Holtz is hosting a challenge using his Tattered Floral die. 

This is my entry a gorgeous wristlet: 

The flower is made of a natural colored muslin (cut from the daisy shaped portion of the die) and stained with Weathered Wood Distress Stain.  The Weathered Wood DS has a very grey/blue nautical feeling and felt so perfect for this! The center is recycled cork and glitter.
The base of the bracelet is leather. The base of the destination unknown is a rounded rectangle of chip that has been slightly soaked in water and curved to match your wrist. It's covered in gesso and stamped with a Viva Las VegaStamps! Washi Tape Grid Stamp. Then I covered it in some more of the Weathered Wood DS and stamped VLVS!'s Destination Unknown in black Archival Ranger ink and covered it in VLVS! Ultra High Gloss Ep. The cheesecloth has also been soaked in Weathered Wood DS.

Destination Unknown was secured to the leather with eyelets and May Arts Burlap String. Between the center of the flower and the petals I beaded some dangles. I used miscellaneous plastic and glass beads. 

To close the bracelet I cut a hole in one side and shredded and knotted the other side. As one final "bring it all together" I secured a couple of the beads used in the dangles into the cheesecloth!

I'm so super fond of this bracelet and just adore it to pieces!! What do you think??

Sing a little Song

Hello everyone :)

Today I've got a Spring/Summer inspired tag to share with you! 

I used some of my favorite goodies on it, and will be entering the CropChocolate weekly challenge with it!

Don't mind the "Curved"ness of my tag.. it got a little warped in the inking process :) 

The paper is from Teresa Collins. The inks are distress inks by ranger, archival by ranger and glimmer mist by Tattered Angels. The washi tape is Gauche Alchemy. The pearl brad is from My Mind's Eye. I also used an American Crafts black pen. From my stash: Label maker, seed beads, floral bead, wet adhesive, gesso.

paperHaus Spring 2013 Blog Hop!

Today I'm sharing an altered paintbrush with you! Every twoish months I host a swap for Viva Las VegaStamps! -- In January we opted for altered paintbrushes.. and they've been rolling into my office for two weeks.. they're ASTOUNDING! It's so much fun to trade art with other people :) 

Anyways.. here is the brush I finished to trade with some unsuspecting artist :) 

I don't know why, maybe it's the warming weather.. but when other people are thinking buds and greenery for spring.. I'm thinking THE OCEAN! Being able to play in the water, enjoy the sand, eat a hot dog at the beach! So I went full out for our Nature Inspired paint brush swap and altered this baby.

The base of the brush is gessoed and distress stained with broken china. I've then laid down some cheese cloth and shells. I covered the shells in Smooch and then finished them with gloss gel. While the gel was still wet I placed eBeads, seed beads and glitter all over. Finish off with a snail stamp from Viva Las VegaStamps! and a rope handle.

And I also have a giveaway!! I've just launched a brand new product line under UmWowStudio (keep an eye out for our website to be done soon!) -- laser cut chipboard pieces!! This giveaway includes a sampling of bits and pieces from different sets as well as a couple of my favorite stamps from VLVS!
