Heart by Kareen

Hello UmWowStudio's followers!!!

I'm here today with a layout and the amazing
7 Dots Studio's paper collection designed by the very unique DeeDee Catron.

I have to say, I usually take pastel or very bright colors,
so it is a little bit out of my comfort zone, but I really
like working with this collection.

So, I hope you will like it too!!

The Pen Is Mightier by Miae

Hello there!

As most of you know, this month we're using Pan Pastels on our UmWowStudio pages and projects. I really wasn't that familiar with how to use them prior to this page but I must say I'll definitely be using them more now! The colors are beautiful and they were so easily blendable! In fact, except for the black swirly marks, all the color that was added to this page is from Pan Pastels!

To alter these feathers from the Feather Trio collection I first covered them with book paper. Next I lightly gessoed the whole feather. After that I blended two Pan Pastel pinks for color and shading. Finally I stamped with a word stamp.

So I discovered an interesting property with Pan Pastels and clear gesso....the clear gesso (not white) seems to dry with a more gritty, toothy texture so the Pan Pastel adheres to it better. For my background I had used the Circle Confetti Mask and clear gesso all over the background. When I rubbed the Pan Pastels over the background, the pigment really 'stuck' to the gesso and you could see the mask pattern very nicely.

So I covered all the rest of the chippies (from the Soar Tags and Layered Circles) with both white and clear gesso before coloring them with Pan Pastels. Love the effect!

And I mustn't forget to mention, I used the beautiful papers from 7Dots Studio Nature Walk collection along with the word stickers and Butterfly Kisses Flair. The neutral colors went so well with the hues provided by the pigment!

Guest Designer Geraldine Pasinati

Hello and welcome!
I'm Geraldine Pasinati and I live in Melbourne. Australia and I'm honoured to be a Creative Team Guest designer today!
Painting, art and mixed media has been a passion since early childhood and now for the past 10+ years so has Scrapbooking. My style is always simply about being 'me' and is also ever evolving, but two constants are my love for amazing products and a great photograph.
Firstly I would like to share a layout using chipboard in it's natural/raw state.

The 'Amazing products' featured here are:

Secondly I have created a Tag to later include on a layout.
My son always loved to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star so the Flair here was a beautiful reminder of such a precious memory from many years ago.

Guest CT Member Kasia

Today we've got a special treat brought by a Guest Creative Member Kasia

Kasia says "Hi! My name is Kasia Bogatko and I’m from Poland. I’ve been scrapbooking for 2011 and now I’m totally addicted. Media are my biggest love right now. I'm still learning them and I try to show their different faces in my artworks.
I love splashes, stains, texture… My favorite forms are LO, canvas, and recently even art-journal.
You can find me here: http://scrapowanieciri.blogspot.com "

And she has this lovely layout to share with us :

The base of her layout is Nature Walk from 7 Dots Studio (there's still some in the shop here), she's layered up bits n pieces from the collection, tags, words and more.

She's also used the Soar Tag set and the Feather Trio on her layout.

Such a beautiful layout, let her know what you think by leaving a comment below! Thanks so much for joining us and sharing your stunning work, Kasia!
