Spring has SPRUNG!

The trees are sporting their baby leaves.
The animals are titterpated and

the birds are busy building their nests.
And FINALLY the sun has come out!

So, I thought embellishing a
Birdhouse would be apropos!
I began by covering my entire birdhouse
with white gesso.

I then cut paper to fit the sides of the birdhouse.

I then pulled out my
UmWowStudio Damask Stencil
and applied a bit of texture medium
through it.

When dry, I adhered the papers
to my birdhouse.
I spritzed my birdhouse and a bit of
vintage ric rack with a mist.

I applied a layer of texture medium to
a chippie for the
UmWowStudio Floral Collection
and then colored it with a bit o glam and mist.

I accented the
UmWowStudio Button Mash
with a bit of glam.

I had covered the roof with pieces of
decorative wood but I felt it needed something more.

So, I pulled out my
UmWowStudio ~ Grid stencil
and applied a bit of texture medium through it.

When dry I spritzed it all with a bit of mist.

Now, you know my birdhouse needed to
say something.
So, I chose a stamp, stamped it,
cut it out.

Here are a few closeups of my finished Birdhouse.

Do you see the little piece of the
UmWowStudio ~ Grid Border??

I hope you enjoyed my piece of Spring....

....to be AWESOME by Lynne

Have you been enjoying ALL
of the AMAZING creations by
our super talented Design Team!!

I don't know if you know....
our FEARLESS leader DeeDee Catron,
along with Jenn Engle
have started a challenge...

here is the current mood!!

PS.....they have GREAT how to videos!!

Here is my take....

I began with a Pocket ~ Canvas Shape
then pulled out a bit of vintage lace
some VERY old wall paper and
adhered them to my canvas shape.

I pulled out a couple of my
UmWowStudio chippies...

some of the pieces were still in the Grid Border,
so I applied a layer of Multi Medium
to the back, to hold them in place!

I painted the Grid Border with
a bit of Moss Green acrylic paint,
 mixed with gesso.
I then spritzed it with a Bronze mist.
I sprayed the Chevron with
Woven Burlap mist.

I love the buttons and bits I used to accent

I pulled out my
and applied texture medium through it.

Using a palette knife and my fingers i applied a bit
of paint over top the stenciled image.

I finished off my "pocket" with a flower diecut from
vintage receipts. I also stamped my quote on
similar paper!

I hope you enjoyed my take on
Our Mixed Media Moods
and that you will play along too!!!

Christmas Card by Kris Berc

Hello UmWowStudio fans!  It's Kris here today with a Christmas card.

To create this card, I started by applying some super heavy gesso through the checker board stencil.  Next I applied some shimmery red and gold mists followed by some little gold beads.

While my card front was drying, I covered a piece of the grid border chipboard with gesso, then adhered it to the card front on top of some messy metallic gold thread.  The grid border is quite possibly my favorite UmWowStudio piece!

A couple of pretty flowers and a sentiment completed the card.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Noted - Mixed Media Layout by Kris Berc

Hello!  It's Kris with you today hoping to inspire you with a simple mixed media layout!

This is my little girl and two of her cousins.  The three of them really love to pose!

I dressed up this chipboard piece from the Doilies set using distress embossing ink with gold embossing powder on half of it and pink embossing powder on the other half.  Then I dabbed on some super heavy gesso here and there with my finger.

Here I've used some gold and peach shades of embossing powder to dress up this "noted" chip piece from the Arrow Title Mash set.  I again dabbed on some super heavy gesso with my finger

Here you can get a close look at some of the stencil/super heavy gesso background work using the Checker Board stencil.  I prefer super heavy gesso instead of modeling paste because it seems to dry much whiter, and I love the brightness of that.

I also used some of the square punch-out pieces from a Grid Border.  I adhered them here and there, then traced around them with a black marker, and topped them off with messy dabs of super heavy gesso.  I thought it was a fun way to those negative pieces of chipboard to add some texture.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Halloween Wood Panels with Safari animals

Hello and Happy Friday!

Tina here today with a fun Halloween project!

Halloween is my favorite holiday and I ALWAYS love creating projects for it!  I love the colors, the themes, and fall in general.  I had been racking my brain for a way to use the adorable animal chipboard pieces, when it hit me!  Why not create a whimsical Halloween project, embellishing them for the season.

To begin, I built texture on a wood panel, using the Hexagon Confetti mask and embossing paste.  I added several shades of Shimmerz sprays, letting them pool around the embossed areas.

To create my fun little animal chipboards, I added several shades of Distress paints and Shimmerz paints for color.  Once they were dry, I added a layer of crackle paint.  To add more vintage goodness, I added Distress stain to each piece, letting the stain seep into the cracks.

Animal Chips used:
Hippo
Rhino

I added more chipboard pieces and paper embellishments to each panel to complete my mini Halloween scene.

Chips used:
Grid Border
Layered Pumpkins

I would LOVE to see what you create with the fun and whimsical animal chipboard pieces!  Please share them with us!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Hello Dear One

Hello everyone!

Miae here to share with you my latest layout using many UmWowStudio goodies! I wanted to create a page with a warm, sweet feeling to suit these recent photos of my little one.

I started with the Light Bulb Mask which I find so unique and cool! I outlined the bulb with a pen and for the rays I mixed a paste of heavy gloss gel and loose glitter. From there I felt "throwing" stars across the page would be right so I took the Star Confetti Mask and same gold glittery paste across the page. Now, what I just adore is how the From The Heart Flair (actually any of the UmWowStudio flair) fits so perfectly in the bulb!

To go with the warmth of the page, I decided to leave the Grid Border chipboard raw. It worked perfectly as a lattice for a rose vine!

The Heart Stings chipboard is altered with Rub 'n Buff in Gold Leaf and Distress Paint. It's a lovely, unique chipboard (and versatile too!).

Hope you enjoyed perusing this page and get some inspiration out of it!
