Biohazard

Good morning friends! We have some exciting things happening at UmWowStudio.. the first is that we'll be having a little Creative Team CHANGE >> Introducing CORRIE HERRIMAN! She is super talented and I've come across her work via the Viva Las VegaStamps! blog. I'm excited to have her here with her fabulous style. She's up today with her first post:

Corrie's Blog

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello everyone,

I was so happy when I was invited to join the Creative Team for the lovely DeeDee Catron's
Their chipboards are fabulous and so much fun to use with rubber stamps !   For my first post I have created an art journal page:

I started with a piece of manilla card stock and painted a layer of gesso on it. After that dried I painted over the gesso with some Silks. I used a blue and a green. It gives a lovely shimmer.
Because I thought it was not dark enough I used Distress Crayons over the top and sealed them with Distress Collage Medium, which is just gel medium I think. It makes the crayons go streaky which I liked. Next I used a Prima Marketing 'Finnabair' stencil called 'Bubbles' to create, well, the bubbles... lol. I used white paint and a blending tool for this.
I then used some VivaLasVegaStamps! to stamp the background and add some more interest. I used several colours of Archival Inks for this, always making sure they blend in.
The jar, jar label and sentiment are also rubber stamps by Viva Las VegaStamps!
The chipboards I were painted with gesso and coloured with Distress Crayons. I heat embossed both to add interest but also to make the Crayons permanent. I used a holographic powder for the fish and a clear powder for the seaweed.
After colouring everything I arranged it on the background until I was happy and glued everything down. Lastly I used a small piece of 7Dots Studio pattern paper (Destination Unknown by DeeDee Catron) at the bottom to make the sand at the bottom of the sea.

I have used these chipboard pieces:

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Ton petit air marin by Ladybird

Hi everybody!
Here is my last layout for June!
I had not planned to use this color combo at all, but the pink just appeared and I am happy with it, even for a boy layout. I heard, it was the pink day lately, so maybe my brain was under some "influence"! ;)

Here are some other picture, to see it closer...
Here are the UWS I used:

And with them, I used product from: 7 Dots Studio, Crate Paper and Luck 7 Factory.

Have a wonderful day!

Beach Party by Ladybird

Summer is here, well almost!!!
And even if I am not able to spend my time at the beach, I am dreaming of it! So today, let me show you a beach layout very easy to reproduce.

Here is how I've made it.
First of all, I used the negative of the 7 Dots Studio Destination Unknown Die Cut cardstock Elements, as a background. I cut it at the right size to have it right behind my photo.

Then I applied my photo right in the center.

And finally, I added the Um Wow Studio chipboards and flairs to create an original frame around the picture. This is a good way to mix several collections of products.
Add some little touches of colours at the end and you've done. Here I used some buttons, gems and stickers, and finally some ink splashes. ;)
 Here are some close up.

Here are the UWS products I used for this layout:

Other products: Webster's Pages paper, October Afternoon buttons, Simple Stories stickers.
Enjoy the Summer!

Set Sail by Ladybird

Here I am to show you a layout with the wonderful Destination Unknown collection of 7 Dots Studio designed by our wonderful DeeDee! :) It was such a pleasure to work with these papers and I had the perfect picture : my two older boys with their pirate and shark costumes!
As this collection comes with lots of nautical embellishments, it was perfect for this layout.
As you can see, I coloured the star chipboards in white and I dit it with iRESISTible ink, a perfect way to add an enamel shine to wood chipboards.

Here are the products I use:
Have a great day!

Destination Unknown {7 Dots Studio & UmWowStudio MASH UP}

Hello folks! DeeDee here today to inspire you with Destination Unknown!!!

I can't say it often enough... so here I go again. I'm SO lucky to get to design papers for the wonderful company 7 Dots Studio. I'm just as equally lucky to own UmWowStudio and design pieces I want... AND I'm even more just as lucky to get to coordinate the two!

During the month of May the DT from 7 Dots Studio and the CT from UmWowStudio are inspiring you using the collection from both companies... we'll here I am today, as the owner, creator, and artistic mind behind Destination Unknown to inspire you :)

I've put together a couple of tags to share.

The tag bases are two pieces of watercolor paper cut using the Sizzix / Tim Holtz #8 die. I use this die for almost EVERY tag base, because it allows me to cut this nice large delicious tag from any sheet of almost any material that I desire. Fan girl!

The tags have then been layered up with lots of deliciousness like dimensional adhesive, altered chipboard, fibers, a Waybill/Invoice background stamp from VLVS! and more. Both tags also have a layer of the Destination Unknown Diecut Tags from 7 Dots Studio.

The left tag is comprised of a chunk o' May Arts Webbing to resemble a fishing net, some atlas paper, and pieces of UmWowStudio chipboard from the Sea Life Set, Coral and Mermaid Duo. The chipboard has been altered with Gesso and Glimmer Mist.

The right tag is layered up with a distressed piece of cheese cloth, washi tape, paper doily, some sewing and a Viva Las VegaStamps! rubber stamp { Whale Tail }. It's also got layers of UmWowStudio chipboard from the Sand Dollar and Starfish sets. The Starfish Wishes is a sentiment sticker from the sheet included in the 7 Dots Studio Destination Unknown collection pack

Both tags were finished with some May Arts burlap twine.

Delish right?

Going Down by Sindi Jeffers

Hi everyone! I'm just stopping by to share this layout that I created with my UmWowStudio and 7 Dots Studio goodies!
I was so excited when I got my package of clouds and couldn't wait to tear them open. I just love those little things! I just covered the clouds in a layer of white gesso and added some white paint before backing them with patterened paper from the 7 Dots Studio Destination Unknown collection. I did the same thing with the layered arrow and tab.
