Steampunk Necklace with Jen

I've got another wearable art project for you!  I had so much fun creating the Hexagon Necklace from last month, that I made another using an UmWowStudio Doily!
I loved the natural color of the chipboard doily so I left it alone! I added lots of fun embellishments and an artsy center.
I took the Cold Porcelain clay from the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Mixed Media with Gelatos kit and mixed some with the Gold Champagne Gelato® and pressed it into a mold for the wings.
I used other products from the kit to create the center art.  I wanted texture and drama for the necklace.  I have more information about the process on this project on my blog.
I love to use UmWowStudio's chipboard pieces for all kinds of art but this one is perfect for a dramatic wearable art piece!   I hope I inspired you to create different types of art with these amazing embellishments!

A Little Bit O' Steampunk

cover full, uws, allassiter
Hello UmWowStudio fans! It's Amy here today, to share a mini book cover. I was wanting a little book to house photos of our move from Kansas to Iowa, and I saw in my stash, I had a couple of 7 Gypsies book covers. I set straight to work with my paint, stamps, and UmWowStudio chipboard bits.
chip close, UWS allassiter
This was the first project I made right after moving, and I was needing to let go of some creative energy that had been building up....so I was not thinking much about the design, just keeping things in an L shape, and adding freely. Adding the Floral Flourish, my first UmWowStudio love (really, I am pretty sure I've used this piece about 10 times at least) gave a nice moving focus to the small 6x6 cover.
I hope to share future pages in the interior of this book, a little "moving journal."
Thanks so much for having a look today!
Loves,
Amy

A Steampunk Garden Gnome

gnome2
Hello UmWowStudio fans, it's Amy here today to share something I've had in the works for a long while....a steampunk garden gnome! backpack close, gnome, allassiter
I took a "regular old" garden gnome, and completely gave him a transformation to a dapper industrial chic gnome, using paint, assemblage (I tore apart toys for his paintbrush crossbow, and altered an altoid tin to create his backpack quiver), and of course, all sorts of gears from the UmWowStudio  Gear Mash.

I'm so excited with how this sweet guy turned out, and I am ready to make him the new "mascot" for my blog header! Thanks for having a look today, and may the gnomes be ever in your favor. ;)

BRIGHT IDEA {Tag by DeeDee}

Hey folks :) DeeDee here today sharing another 7 Dots Studio and UmWowStudio MIXUP!

These two companies really work so well together.. and I've been so proud of the Creative Team over the last month!

Today I'm sharing a tag I just finished up this morning - I'll be submitting it to Just Steampunk!

The paper is from the All I Ever collection from 7 Dots Studio and has been distressed with Walnut Stain and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. (The black paper is just basic black cardstock)

The bulb has been molded using Amazing Mold Rubber and cast in Amazing Clear Cast Resin (from Amazing Crafting Products!) I LOVE IT! The gears are a mix of the Gear Mash and some ideology metal ones by TH. The # tabs are from 7 Gypsies and the metal flower is from my stash covered in glimmer mist. You can see here a sneak peek of a brand new set from UmWowStudio ===> LAYERED LEAVES!

The stamps is from Viva Las VegaStamps! in archival black, the button and thread are from my stash. The crow is from the Pair o' Crows. The alphas are from Glitz Designs, and I've punched some holes into the back of the tag as another layer.
