Project Life with Tanya Dudkina

Hi there!
Today I want to share with you my Project life layout. PL is about all these tiny things and embellishments - so UmWowStudio little chipboard and phrases are just perfect for it. Let's have a look how I used confetti chipboard and decorated my photos?

This March I've been first time in our Saint-Petersburg Zoo and I this event really needs to be documents. So I chose fauna Burro chipboard  and little clouds from Rainy Day Confetti

My another big event! I finally started to watercolor. That was my dream and I'm super excited I finally did it! I wanted to show all my emotions and amazing process of watercoloring. So many splashes - so much fun. I used Rainy Day Confetti to show splashes of paints and decorated them with enamel dots

And finally - my craft room! We bought some new storage and shelves, so now I'm finishing all the details and my room will be finally ready! I used Comic Book Speech bubbles to express my emotions ))

So that is it. Hope you enjoy it and find some ideas for your Project Life layouts

How To Use The Sketch for Project Life

Hi, Lisa back with you today. If you saw the sketch yesterday and loved it as much as I do, you know you are going to create a 12x12 page with it this month, but if you also do project life/pocket scrapbooking I wanted to share two ways you can use the sketch to inspire a card you will love.

First of all, if you take out just the middle "white"  part of this sketch you can see how it will fit nicely into a 4x6 card. I used a bold yellow patterned paper as the base, adding on white cardstock, and lots of detail in the same fashion as the sketch design. My favorite is how the simple Star Confetti chipboard and Twinkle Speech Bubbles toned down the boldness of the yellows I chose in the papers, embellishments and washi tape. I even added yellow thread and yellow pant splotches to draw the the whole monochromatic theme together. I love using color in my design process.  But it may have been harder without the sketch and been way too bright for my style without the gentle tone of the chipboard.

In this design, the photo is the base for the design. I treated the photo as the white portion of the sketch. This came together quickly with a little washi, a star and arrow brad and lots of thread and Star Confetti.  I really love the finished products and may not have thought to layer a photo up this way without this month's sketch!

I hope you will all play along with us this month! Thank you for peeking at how I used the sketch!

Week 6

Hi! Lisa back with you today to share with you my Week 6 pocket scrapbooking/project life layout for 2014.

I enjoyed mixing some blue paint with some Golden texture paste and using the Star Confetti Mask spread it on nice and thick to give my cards the extra texture I love.

Layering on two of my favorite chipboard sets added more interest, without too much thickness in the pockets. I really liked how both the Star Confetti and the Arrow Title Mash coordinated so beautifully with the stencil!

I continued to add the chipboard all over my layout to pull it all together.

I added a couple of my favorite Sidewalk Chalk flair to finish this design off.

I love how Um Wow Studio products create lovely pocket scrapbooking/project life spreads and can help you pull your whole design together!

Creating Your Own Project Life/Pocket Scrapbooking Cards

Hi, Lisa here with you, very excited to share my first post on the blog! Today I wanted to share some fun ways to use my favorite Um Wow Studio masks and chipboard.

I think with all the project life cards on the market we can quickly forget that we might already have supplies on hand that could  create really beautiful cards to lead to a faster and easier layout!

The base of this weekly layout is just a stack of simple grid cards. I used both 4x6 and 3x4 grid cards as my base. Alone, they look a bit drab. Plain. and that is okay, too, but if you want to "spice them up" here are some simple steps.

Step One: Use a Mask

I started this 4x6 card with the Line of Chevrons Mask and a messy spraying of mist. I also used one of my pens to draw a few extra chevrons. I love the added touch that added, too.

This created a simple, yet lovely, background. I used a mist light enough so I could still use the lines to journal, but so it still dressed up the card.

Step Two: Use Some Chipboard

I created a bit more detail using the coordinating Chevron Confetti. I love when products "fit" together and these two go hand in hand. The pop of texture and design with this simple addition is just lovely.

Step Three: Add a photo, journaling and/or a few extra details

In just a couple of minutes I was able to have a finished card, just adding a photo, some simple stamping, including a basic date stamp and a bit of washi.  You can see each card below has a bit of either journaling, photos, embellishments, stamping or all of them, but it does not take away from the original designs I created with the mask and chipboard.

This page was made so much more "finished" with these easy to use products and I am loving the finished page. By creating my own cards I was able to put the photos where I wanted on the card, add the journaling in larger amounts and match my colors so much easier.

If you customize a Project Life/Pocket Scrapbooking layout please share it here in the comments I would love to visit and see it!

I will be back sharing  posts on creating simple personalized cards  here soon!

and if you wonder why I use so much journaling and less photos this week, please check out my post here on my blog.
