Mixed Media Jenn {Guester}

Hey everyone! I’m Jenn Engle and I am beyond thrilled to be a quest here today sharing a mixed media canvas featuring these fabulous UmWowStudio Chipboard pieces.

I used two of the script words on my piece and I think that added the perfect focal point. I also used the chipboard confetti stars as a delightful little finishing touch. I can’t stop using those stars on everything.

In order to show you exactly how I made this piece I have a process video for you!

The best part, I have a coupon code for you! Just use “JennE20” at checkout at UmWowStudio.com and get 20% off your order!

A Spoooooky floral spray!

Today I'm combining two blog hops! DUN DUN DUN!!!

So at the end be sure to pick which hop you're on and continue along the way :) My project today is a handmade floral spray. Making floral sprays is a pretty fun experience, but I'm always at a loss at the end of them on how anybody could ever make money doing it!! They're hard work and really take a toll on your hands.. all the twisting and pulling, the gripping and yada yada huh?

Anyways! Here's my spoooooky floral spray:

Originally I sculpted the bats in Creative Paperclay®. To guarantee I'd always get the same shape I then molded them with Amazing Mold Putty and filled the molds four or five times with more Creative Paperclay®. They're painted with acrylic paint.

The leaves are stamped with the script section of the Tree Writing Collage from VLVS! in black archival ink. They're distressed with Walnut Stain distress ink.

Other supplies used include wire, glue and black floral tape.

Now choose your blog hop!!

Tag-a-licious - SSSnS

Here is another submission for the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge -- the DT really has amazing work this week so be sure to check it out! Jury is still out on the new DT spots.. no rejection emails yet so I've got my fingers crossed.. good luck to all who applied!

I started with a manilla tag, black soot and barn door distress ink. I foamed the tag with barn door, and splattered with black soot. I then ran a permanent ink (Momento black tuxedo) over the edges and stamped with a Stampin' Up stamp that I got at a garage sale for ONE DOLLAR! (Normally this stamp goes for $22!) I walking stitched the lace which was folded over and secured it to create a flower. I glued a round button in the middle.. black and shiny. I picked through my feathers till I found the perfect additions! The dress form is actually my own design laser cut by a local cutter here in town. I heat embossed it with black soot and smooth embossing powder.. then dry embossed with a script folder. the pearls were just laying around here in my studio and the black twine/cord was given to me in a box of fabulousness from my grandmother!
