Hello Dear One

Hello everyone!

Miae here to share with you my latest layout using many UmWowStudio goodies! I wanted to create a page with a warm, sweet feeling to suit these recent photos of my little one.

I started with the Light Bulb Mask which I find so unique and cool! I outlined the bulb with a pen and for the rays I mixed a paste of heavy gloss gel and loose glitter. From there I felt "throwing" stars across the page would be right so I took the Star Confetti Mask and same gold glittery paste across the page. Now, what I just adore is how the From The Heart Flair (actually any of the UmWowStudio flair) fits so perfectly in the bulb!

To go with the warmth of the page, I decided to leave the Grid Border chipboard raw. It worked perfectly as a lattice for a rose vine!

The Heart Stings chipboard is altered with Rub 'n Buff in Gold Leaf and Distress Paint. It's a lovely, unique chipboard (and versatile too!).

Hope you enjoyed perusing this page and get some inspiration out of it!

Feeling Blue Journal Page with Jen

P1020406
I have an art journal page to share with you today!  I used lots of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft mediums and Gelatos® colors along with a few of the adorable Layered Chipboard clouds.  Unfortunately, I was so into making this page, I forgot to take too many in progress photos!
P1010830I started with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Whipped Spackle and used a palette knife from our Gelatos Tool Set to smear some around to create "clouds".  It keeps it's shape and won't flatten down after drying.  I also love the resist that it gives to wet media.
When that was dry, I added Gelatos® colors in Blueberry, Metallic Blueberry , Bosenberry and  Double Scoop® Snow Cone to the page. I had made a Gelatos® mist with the Metallic Blueberry and Bosenberry to create a shimmer and an even application.
P1020400The other colors were added to the top of the page and water was added with a brush to allow drippage (my favorite technique)! I love how the Whipped Spackle allows the color to puddle and change over it.  When that was dry, I added stamped letters using a Stamper's Big Brush Pen in Cool Grey
P1020402 Finally, I added the UmWowStudio layered chipboard clouds and filled or covered them with the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Glass Bead Glitter Gel.  It gives them the right amount of sparkle and shine!  When dry, it allows the color underneath to show through too!  I love these layered chipboard pieces with their open spaces to fill with fun mediums!
The quote I used for this page was one from a 7 year old!  I found it online and it was perfect for this page! That 7 year old was so wise.  It says:
"If you are feeling blue,
try painting yourself a different color!"
P1020405
I love that I can use ALL of my Gelatos® colors any time I want!!!  It just depends on my mood!
What color are you feeling lately?

A Cozy Fall Tag

Hello and happy Sunday to all you wonderful UmWowStudio fans! It's Amy here to share a sweet tag I made to celebrate the arrival of fall here in the USA....and along with this glorious season comes scarves and jackets, and bundling up to enjoy cider and hay rides. I wanted to take a stamped image of a girl all bundled for fall, and doll it up with fabulous UmWowStudio products.

I started with layering paint onto my tag, and then layering stenciling, using the Harlequin Mask and Circle Confetti Mask. I next layered on plenty of papers, trims and tapes, and stamped and mounted my stamped image, using 3D foam tape.

After adding the Prima flower at the top of the tag, along with some leaves, an UmWowStudio Leaf Stem was just the ticket to an elegant look, and sprinklings of Star Confetti across the top and middle gave a lot of interest.

Finally, I added the Alpha One letters to spell "cozy fall" at the bottom of the tag. These letters are the perfect delicate size for a tag project like this. I'm so happy with the outcome!

Thanks so much for having a look at my tag, and I hope you all have a lovely rest of the weekend!
~Amy

Undies on the Head

Good morning sweet readers. I want to share a new layout I created using on of my favorite things to play with;basic geometrical shapes. I always seem to keep to certain basics when documenting my families memories, and among that are a varied use of squares and circles, with the occasional triangles on my pages. I love to play with how to change them up for more of a WOW statement. Based on this pattern, I have to say I LOVE playing with any of the UWS "layered shapes". I wanted to use the varying shapes of the layered squares to make a grid like pattern, rather than actually layer them.
I started my page by just throwing some platters in opposite corners for movement. I used multiple colors and added some sequins, confetti paper, and other tiny embellishments among the splatters. Once I had my basic photo placement, I added the ever awesome squares. I scattered them, and for more detail, I traced a few to hand stitch a square shape in its place.
How fun of a look does this create. Of course I left my squares raw. I always need a natural looking element to anchor down all of my paper projects. The funny story behind this page; I was in the living room one night, blog hopping for inspiration, of course; when my youngest daughter came barreling down the stairs to show me her "new hat" and ask me very enthusiastically to read her a book. I had to laugh as her "new hat" was a clean pair of sisters undies! She was in love with her fashion choice, so I had no choice but to let her wear them, and of course photograph the evidence first! Thanks so much for stopping to look today. I hope I could inspire you to use those geometric shapes!
