Almost there!

Hello and welcome to UmWowStudio Blog,

Back in my corner of the world today ~Australia...... Yes it's Geraldine here to share some quick Retro/Vintage Christmas card and tags. I wanted a little change today and unlike my usual layout style, I like cards & tags to have an old world charm - especially at this time of year as it tends to please Mum and the Grandma's and always gets them talking about Christmas when they were younger.

UmWowStudio Chipboard products used:

We all know just how hectic Christmas time is..... sometimes even the simplest of Cards or tags that we make reap the rewards of a smile and appreciation from the receiver and brighten our own Christmas.... these tags can be made in under 10 mins using a vintage image or paper. Keep the chipboard raw or add Crackle paint and ink.

I hope you all enjoy Christmas and the holiday season, see you again soon. G!

One Crisp Magical Night

Hello, how's everyone doing? It's Miae here to share with you a winter canvas.

We've been making some Christmas crafts at home with my two girls and each of them have made a canvas so I decided to make one too :)

First, I painted the background with a mix of distress paints, blotting between layers with baby wipes until I got the look I wanted.

I'd been savoring my UWS Spooky Branch, and I thought this was the perfect scene for it! I kept it raw but created the look of snow sitting on the branches with Distress Stickles in Rock Candy and loose white glitter.

As for the moon, I used UWS Layered Circles and painted gesso over it. Next, I used a sponge to apply some grey acrylic paint. Over the dried paint I applied glitter glue in silver and some more Rock Candy.

The UWS Star Confetti came in ever so handy to scatter all over the scene. I glued them all down first then dabbed gesso everywhere, followed by a bit of silver glitter. Easy!

Now I've created a little scene that we can hang up each winter. Happy Holidays to you all!

'On her Tuffet'

Hello there and welcome!
Geraldine here and today I'm sharing my first official Creative Team member layout and blog post. I consider myself an 'earth girl' and by that I mean I love trees, leaves and nature, right down to my colour palettes.
So I must say.....how could I resist the Layered Leaves & Leaf confetti and I just had to add these Spooky branches -  to match that nasty big Spider.

2 Projects by Aimee Maddern

Today we have 2 superb bits by one of the amazing girls from Paper Issues .. Aimee Maddern!

I’m Aimee a past owner of a scrapbook boutique who has a passion for paper & has way too much of it! I have always been a crafter. I officially started scrapping in 200ish. I’m a so Cal native who loves the sun, lattes, shopping, my boyfriend and 2 dogs. I work from home, which allows me to travel with my parents and their race car.

Hey there, I’m so excited to be here at UmWowStudio as a guest designer today.

Today I have two projects to share. First one is a layout I made using to different chipboard products, a background and confetti.

If you cant tell, I love to layer, and the Spooky Branch is perfect for just that! I added the Butterflies “flying” as if they just blossomed from caterpillars into the big wide open.

Next I have a Pocket Scrap Page to share with you. I absolutely love the look of pocket scrapping. I haven’t quite got the hang of it but I like to play around. I thought the Ray Background was perfect to represent the sun rising. I love the simplicity of this page and the dramatic punch it gives to an album.

Thanks for stopping by the UmWowStudio blog today and checking out my projects.

Quick and simple with UmWowStudio {12x12 layouts by Kylie}

Happy Monday! It's Kylie here with some quick, simple layouts using some of my favourite UmWowStudio embellishments. While scrapbooking is a great creative outlet, sometimes I just want to get the memories down on paper. I challenged myself to scrap a couple of quick pages and Imanaged to do both of the layouts below in under 20 minutes each.

The first layout is of my daughter riding her Dad's shoulders at Boo at the Zoo. I used UmWowStudio Boo flair, Layered Pumpkin and Star Confetti chipboard and the @ sign is from the Symbol Mash.

Other products used on this layout include Kraft Ouchless Cardboard from Gauche Alchemy, Maya Rd journaling spot, Thickers letters, Making Memories paint, ribbon from my stash and the lion is from Sassafras.

The idea for this next layout has been floating around in my head ever since the UmWowStudio Spooky Branch arrived in my mailbox. And I'm REALLY happy about how it turned out. The pictures are of my brother and his kids on Mother's Day last year (these were taken in New Zealand, so it was Fall there). The 'leaves' on the branches are Heart Confetti and Layered Hearts. I think this would work really well with the new UmWowStudio Layered Leaves, Medium Leaf Confetti and Leaf Confetti too.
And a couple of close-ups of my tree, cos you know, I think it's awesome......
The other products used on this layout are Thickers letters and Bazzil cardstock.

Have a great week! And don't forget the UmWowStudio and Authentique Challenge that is running through the month of November.
