Vive l'automne by Magali

Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadian fans!
I am back from a wonderful weekend in the area of Quebec City, where the colors are just fantastic!

I love fall colors and that's why I think you will see my fall layouts until Christmas...

Here is a layout I've made with a picture of my son taken last year at the same date.
Um Wow Studio chipboards are perfect for forest photo sessions. Try it!

Here is my layout...
 And some close-ups...
I know the Elk Head Silhouette was created for Christmas creations, but honestly, I could not see it in a better place than on this page.

Here are the products I've used:

Summer canvas by Magali

Hi there,

I am really happy to be here for a new term with you and I hope you'll love my next creations.
Today, I want to share a little canvas, it's the first one I show you here.
It's about 6x6 inches and 2 inches thick.

The quote is from Albert Einstein.

I always liked this quote and a friend of mine recently give me a mug with it... I found it very inspiring. Here is my process...
For the background I used Gelatos from Faber Castell, I love the bright colors they offer. I've drawn some circles creating an ombré effect. Then, I applied water with a brush, to soften the effect.

I added the lettering with Decoupage glue.
I coloured my bicycle with black ink pad, just pressing the pad on the chipboard. I love the fact that the natural color of the chipboard is still visible. I did the same with the flowers.
For the last part of the quote, I used a dymo label maker. I also added some stamps on the edges.
After adding some iRESISTible ink splashes, here is the final result.

And here are the UWS I used:

And other products: DoodleBug letters, Dymo

An Easter layout by Ladybird

Hi everyone!
Already close to the end of March, it's now time to think about Spring!

Today I want to share a Easter layout made just for you.
I love this photo of my little boy with his duck costume... so adorable, but not so easy to capture!
And perfect for Spring layouts! ;)
I think I can definitely admit that yellow is my favorite colour these days.
I love the fact that the flair is not totally covered by the quote,
so it's easy to add a personal touch on it!
Here I found the perfect little duck to match the theme.
Circle stencil and confetti chipboards are just perfect together!
I used a yellow Posca marker to add colour to the Celebrate Hashtag. That's a very easy way to add colours while keeping the rough effect of the chipboard. I love it!
Here are the UWS products I used:
Circle Confetti

Circle Confetti Mask
Celebrate Hashtag Banners

From the Heart Flair

And I also used products from: October Afternoon and Lime Citron.

Nat n Birgit Page!

I haven't been doing much for ME lately.. and when we ran into Louise Nelson at CHA she said "You HAVE to make time to do your OWN stuff. Not for publication.. not for DTs.. for YOU"

So the day before yesterday I had a few pictures printed, and last night I got to work on putting them into my journal! I love the size of this journal, and you'll find the "style" very repetitive in it.. because the paper takes ink and gesso SO WELL.

Here's the first of many to come!

I started off with two bits of amazing punchinella by Gauche Alchemy. one large circle and one medium. I gessoed them onto the page with white gesso by Winsor and Newton. (You can see the circles better in the next two photos!) Then using a new technique I learned from Janna Werner during Creative Jumpstart I splattered some Glimmer Mist in Mustard Seed by TA all over my page. Rather than spraying with the bottle or splattering with the wand.. I sprayed into the cap of the bottle a couple times then splattered that.. it gave me some wonderful BIG splatters!

Then I stamped with Viva Las VegaStamps!' line of chevrons and lace fancy border in Ranger's archival ink. I added a bit of charcoal glimmer mist and then adhered my image down with Miracle Tape by VLVS!. I knew I needed some color to the right, so grabbed some start punchinella (also available from Gauche Alchemy) and inked it with four layers of distress ink. First was Shabby Shutters, then Peeled Paint, add some Mustard Seed and finish with a tiny bit of Black Soot.

Add a bit of Washi Tape from Gauche Alchemy and stamp it with a date!

I did the tiniest bit of drawing around the edge, too. It helped wrangle everything inside the page.
