Libre by Ladybird

Today, I'd like to show you a little tip to add colour and texture
to your chipboards with a single operation!
In order to achieve the effect seen above on the leaves,
I used acrylic paint, a stampink block, black ink and a stamp.

Start by putting a few drops of paint on the stamping block.
Then, turn it upside down on the chipboards to add the paint on the chipboard.
As you can see above, when you lift the stamping block,
this adds some texture to the chipboard that seems to be
the natural design of a leaf in the nature.
Let them dry... then stamp the pattern of your choice over the paint!
I used a book background.

And that's done, you can use them on your layout... here is mine!
Some details.

For this layout I used:
Circle Confetti Chipboards
And also: Lucky7Factory paper, Rose Moka words, Basic Grey letters, Lime Citron stamps

Enjoy your week end!

Mixed Media Demo -- June {A tag}

Good afternoon folks :)

If you've been following the blog for long you'll know that every first Sunday of the month I do a free mixed media demo locally in Las Vegas.

Today I'm sharing the tag we worked on last week!

Join us at The Crafting Place on Russel every first Sunday of the month from 1-3 for a FREE mixed media demo --- we'll explore new materials and techniques each time!

For June I chose to share some black gesso and Silks acrylic glazes!

The tag uses the gorgeous Sunflower stamp from Viva Las VegaStamps!, Star Confetti Chip from UmWowStudio, Black acrylic gesso, black Archival ink by Ranger, Twine and ribbon by May Arts, adhesives by Helmar, and various Silks Acrylic Glazes by Luminarte and Splash Of Color.

Basically the gesso has been applied as a "starry night" feel, and heated with a heat gun to get some extra texture. The stamp was stamped and embossed then "water colored" with the acrylic glazes. The stars and ribbon were adhered with Helmar adhesives as a final step.

Don't forget.. some of our tags may seem simple in comparison to others.. but we're sharing and experimenting with techniques and products!

WOYWW #160

Have you see this Whats On Your Workdesk? Wednesday ??

I love the idea of crafters and stampers and just people in general sharing their spaces and what they're working on. I follow a couple of fab bloggers who participate and now I've decided to jump in! I'm hoping it will kick me in gear to share more than just finished products.. but processes and mid stream photos, too.

and here's my workdesk photo for 6/27

I work on the kitchen table.. which is actually pretty nice because I have TONS of space.. and the hubs can work across from me!

Here's a journal page I was working on.. there's my miracle tape, ultra high gloss EP, a viva las vegastamps! stamp and you can see the making of some vines for my July kit.

With a heavy heart..

I say a final farewell to the CropChocolate Chocolatiers Design Team..

Yesterday was my final post on TheCrop. Read my message there.

I did a project inspired by Louise Nelson.. her layouts utilize space and graphics in such a beautiful way I had to finally just quit drooling and give it a go.

VLVS! Tryout - Whimsical!

It's that time again!

Here I am trying out for VLVS! I've had a great year with them and am very honored that I was able to serve a 2nd term, if I don't make it this time, It's because VLVS! has AMAZING fans who do AMAZING work!

I love the vast variety of VLVS! images, the miracle tape and the ultra thick EP.. I will FOREVER be a fan, if not a DT member ♥ And here is a GIANT shout out to the wonderful team that is currently supporting and promoting VLVS! -- Their work is so wonderful and has inspired my post for the tryout today!

Check out Viva Las Vegastamps! HERE --- and visit the blog HERE for new posts from the DT Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays!

and without further ado.. Here is my project (it's taken a whimsical sort of fun turn from my usual stamping ways) :

I had so much fun with this Umbrella Man (2.5x3.5) -- he was so whimsical and begging for color.. which I answered with Prisma Color markers Deco Blue, Cool Gray 60%, and Yellowed Orange. After, of course I stamped him with Memento tuxedo black ink on Kromecote cardstock - the combination of two gave me such a crisp clean image.. WONDERFUL!

I then adhered some Basic Grey paper to a recycled kraft base with Miracle Tape, gave it a little distress ink.. and glued my man down! Add a bit of doodling with a white pen and VIOLA. A fun scene, simple yet graphic and fun card to send to a close friend!

G45 - altered spool

blogs are funny aren't they? I think they get pushed to the back burner SO easily.. I did a big show.. tried to concentrate on making product for it.. the blog sacrificed.. then I swore once it was over.. I would post tons of goodies to the blog.. however.. Graphic45 put up a design team call.. as well as couple of other places..

But.. I'm posting a Graphic45 pieces right now :) which will go into the larger application post towards the middle of the week!

The spool is decorated with Tropical Travelogue (8x8) papers.. did some fussy cutting (the foliage) as well as paper rolling (the eggs). I stamped a Unity stamp onto some white cardstock as sort of a focal point. The paper unrolls from the wooden spool to reveal a treasure map.. and when it's rolled up a vintage metal button pairs with some bakers twine to keep it closed. Other than that I used some moss, distress ink and glue :)

I've sent this in to UNITY to be pinned on a pinterest board for a competition! Keep an eye out there to vote for me :)
as the week at SimonSaysStampandShow is anything goes, I'll also be linking up there :)
